Stewart the professional locksmith!
Stewart came quickly and fixed my lock and door perfectly. Both lock and the door was repaired. Professional and knowledgeable. Prepared wit all the tools needed. Expert work and now I feel safe in my home.

Review: I can't seem to go back to hit correct complaint problem. It was terrible work on our restored camper. The locksmith drilled a hole right through our birch wood camper wall before asking permission to do so. I had to bring it all the way to the man who did the camper.

The owner is out of control. I wanted a refund and he kept walking around saying "Oh no, not my man. He has Hands of Gold." He finally came and looked and said "Oh well he had to do it to get the lock through". We told him he should have asked permission first.

No offer to even give a penny nor offer of finding someone to fix it.

We will pay big time for the work plus.. I had to drive to [redacted] yesterday to the camper man.

Business Reply Statement of the Problem:

First, let us state that we have been in the Lock, Safe, and Door business for over forty (40) years, and if we ever did work like [redacted] said we did, we would have been put out of business Thirty nine (39) years ago. We have serviced thousands, and thousands, of customers in that time period, and maybe only a hand full, you can count them on your fingers, said something bad about us. You can't please everyone, somebody is always looking to cause trouble.

We always get a customer's authorization, and \ or permission, either written, or verbal, before we start a job.

The following details occured on the Baca job:

1) [redacted] was informed that there was no exact lock to fit his camper door, and that we would have to custom fit one. We explained to him exactly where any wood, would have to be cut out. He agreed to that. We also put one of our best lock technicians on that job, who

numerous times in the past has drilled, and chiseled, mortise locksets into mahogany doors

worth between five, and ten thousand dollars, with never any problems. Thus the expression,

"Hands of Gold", that was used. After the job was completed, [redacted], inspected the work,

was very satisfied, said our technician did an excellent job, and gave him an $18.00 tip.

Several days later, we received a call from [redacted], saying there was a hole in her bench.

Upon inspecting the bench, we observed that there was an extremely tiny slit about 1/8" inch

wide, by 3/4 inch long. The back of the bench was resting on the frame of the door, that we

drilled into for the bolt of the lock. [redacted] only happened to notice it as she removed the

bench cushions covering the slit while she was cleaning, otherwise no one would have noticed

it at all. We didn't even know it was there. We offered to repair the slit with colored wood filler,

but she refused, and just said she wanted a brand new bench.

If you have a scratch on a car, do you get it repaired, or do they give you a brand new car ?

She wants a brand new door, a brand new bench, and besides that all of her money back

that she paid us to do the work.

In other words, she wants this excellent job that her husband said we did, to be completely

free, with brand new merchandise, and not to cost her even a penny.

If we knew that these people were going to act like this, we should never have taken this job

on in the first place. "Hindsight is 20 / 20."

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

This locksmith is not truthful.

Actually, this is really untruthful.

My husband did not give the man permission to drill through my wall. I have photos which I will gladly supply. He did say carve out the birch door a bit. What this locksmith did, was left a burned and splintered gash in the door. At least he could have dremeled a nice curve. It was black and splintered. . I also have photos.

The wall (our major point) was unbelievable. Splintered a solid birch piece with a gaping hole that now would let bugs and outside cold air get in.

The owner is responsible to refund our money. He should not lie about my husband telling him it was OK to drill through a restored camper wall.

That is horrible in itself.

The camper was driven to Lancaster to be repaired. Receipts gladly supplied.

This cost me time, (2 trips) gas and money. Plus $350.00 for repairing this disaster. No locksmith should drill a gaping hole through a wall. He left a pile of sawdust conviently under the cushion that he placed back. What sloppy work. Yes, I wants total refund for this. What sane person wouldn't?

Again, if you instruct us how to load the images I have, we will be glad to do that, and to furnish a receipt from the man who had to do damage control.

At this time, I have not been contacted by Assured Locksmith Co. regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Absolutely nothing. Ty.

Sincerely,

Review: I recently purchased a home and called upon Assured Locksmith to re-key my locks so that no other keys would be able to open the front door. Upon speaking to the representative on the phone they assured me this would not be a problem as they do this all the time and that the charge for re-keying both locks would be $90. When the representative ([redacted]) arrived he was able to quickly re-key one of the locks and had trouble with the second lock. After fumbling with it for no more than five minutes he got frustrated and said I can't fix it and by the way the original key isn't working either.

He didn't even apologize for breaking my working lock (which I notated on the signed receipt and attached for your review) and said well I will just charge you for a service call. At this point I am livid as my working lock is now broken and to add insult to injury he wants to charge me for it!

I asked him how much it would be as I wanted this man out of my house now as I was uncomfortable. He made up a number and I paid with my Amex knowing that I would have your support when I contest this bill (one of the many reasons I am a proud Amex card carrier). He said his service call is $90. Not believing him (and you can inquire as well) I called the locksmith to see how much their service call charges are and was informed $45.

I went to Home Depot that day and was able to fix the lock that he broke and re-key it myself which turned out to be very simple if you have patience and 1/2 brain; both were lacking from the rep who was at my house. If he would have stayed longer than five minutes he could have accomplished the job at hand, which he was hired for and all of this would have been avoided.

I would have gladly paid the $90 for having him re-key both locks, however, he was unable to perform the task he was hired for and damaged my property in the process. I ask that you put yourself in my shoes and decide that this company (which is riddled with terrible reviews on numerous home improvement sites) receives nothing.

.I am available should you have any questions. I look forward to this being resolved. Thank you.Desired Settlement: I am seeking a refund to replace the lock he damaged while at my residence and to offset the $97.70 I paid for his "service call".
