Cancelled use of storage units. Charged an extra month.
I rented two storage units several months ago ***. I have always paid in advance per policy. On Monday June15th I called and left a message on their answering machine. I stated I didn't need the units. This was 8:24AM.
Saturday June 20, I had a message on my answering machine about the units. I returned the call shortly after receiving the call. I call at 11:48AM. The lady stated I needed to pay next month's rent. I told her I left a message that I not longer needed the units.
I tried to explain that the units were no longer needed. She should see that rent is due on the 14th. However, all she wanted was a month rent plus late charge. Afraid they would make note on my credit rating I paid the bill. It was very clear she didn't care.
I would like may credit card credit and written notice of paid in full.

Thank you for your inquiry into*** The claimant states that he provided sufficient notice to cancel his rental agreement for units *** at Assured Storage of Metro.
However, pursuant to the lease agreement and the dates when rent accrues, he did not provide sufficient or appropriate notice to terminate his rental of the space. The lease clearly states that a notice to vacate must be made in writing and within 10 days of the anniversary of the term. I have attached a copy of the agreement that *** signed. We also include a copy of the notice to vacate form to every tenant with their move in paperwork, and there is a link on our website for an onllne form to give your notice to move out.
Moreover,*** rent is due on the 14th of the month. He clearly states in his complaint that he called to terminate the rental of his space on the 15th â?¢ This is 11 days after the required notice to terminate the agreement, and 1 day after rent accrues and the agreement extended. Further, the lease says that rent is not prorated on moveout and is considered earned when paid.
As*** states in his complaint, he prides himself on following our policy, however, he selectively decides which policies apply to him. Given his failure to provide proper notice, and because he was occupying the space on the date in which the charges accrue extending the agreement by one more month, we will not be refunding any charges to his card or providing any notice of his account being paid in full until he provides proper notice and the account is satisfied.
Furthermore, this matter is clearly a legal mater relating to the interpretation of a lease and is beyond the scope and expertise of the Revdex.com of The Mid-South. Your actions and further reporting on the business rating of Assured Storage Metro, LLC, is considered credit rating without the benefit of due process. This is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
As such, we demand that you disregard the complaint and remove any negative reviews and/or ratings from any websites, mailings, membership listings or any other form of propaganda your firm may distribute. Actions to the contrary that result in damage to our business or trade name, will cause us to take any and all actions allowed under the law to recover our damages, which will not only include actions against the claimant, but it will also name the Revdex.com Servicing the Mid-South.

This is not the first time I have conducted business with this company. I have always used the phone for payment and to cancel use of a unit. The 14th was a Sunday, I called Monday to cancel.
I rented one unit and then needed a second unit. The rent on the first unit was prorated so both units rent was due on the same date.
