on June 2nd 2019 I emailed the property manager via the online resident portal that my rent would be late and would be paid along with $75.00 late fee on June 7th 2019. When I logged into the portal on June 7th the portal was not working properly. I was unable to make a onetime payment of $1798.00 which was my rent with utilities and the $75.00 additional fee. I emailed via the same portal again and let the manager know that I was having trouble I also called and left a voice mail message at 1-(888)201-1014. I then tried again to make a payment online but the portal online did not work. I even tried the portal's set up auto payment and was unable to do so. I never received call back from anyone. so later that day on June 7th I order from my bank a draft to be sent to the Asteria Place Apartments I called the 1-(888)201-1014 number again and left a voice message explaining what happened but never got any call back June 7th was on a Friday. On Tuesday June 11th I received a call from the property manager *** stating that my rent was late and they needed to paid now! I explained what happened and all she said was when will she get the June rent nothing about what was wrong with the resident payment portal just when was she going to get the check which was being mailed to them via US postal service so I really had no answer for her. I tried to provide her with the confirmation information from the bank but all she kept asking was when will she receive the rent check. On Tuesday June 18th I received a voice message from *** asking me to come in and sign a affidavit stating that I agree to pay and additional $10 per day (6/4-6/18) or they will not accept the bank check for $1798.00 basically they are refusing payment just to increase it. I have lived here for about four years and put up with a lot of stuff with poor management but this takes the cake.
Good Afternoon, I have an open complaint ID#*** I would like to add more information to my file. I have received a copy of Asteria Place Apartments breakdown of what I owe them and it shows that they are requesting additional late fees that according to my lease they should not be asking for and that do not match what was originally stated that I owe. I have also received a letter dated 6/19/19 from the onsite property manager treating to evict me. they have a payment from me for $1798.00 which is according to what my calculations is what I owed for June which is $1575.00 rent plus $73.00 utilities which includes a $4 processing fee plus a $75.00 late fee. Per letter I received yesterday 6/19/19 at 4:54PM from the onsite property manager I owe $1798.00 for rent plus $75.00 late fee plus $10 per day from 6/5/19-6/12/19($80). My rent per month is $1575.00 which I have a signed lease agreement. Unless they raised my rent without proper notice I do not owe them $1953.00. How can I add this information to my complaint? I am rejecting this response because: Asteria Place Apartments has not reached out to me resolve this matter. What they have done was to serve me with eviction papers (that were not time stamp with any King County Court number)because I refused to sign a so called stipulation letter which in truth was an contract stating that my rent would be $1798.00 which to my understanding is illegal with out a 30day notice. I have a current 1year lease with them effective 2/1/2019. I would also like to add that on my behalf a locally funded program offered assistance and mediation to resolve the situation and as of 6/26/19 Asteria Place onsite manager has not responded to them. I have been served with eviction papers stating I have until July 3rd and they have locked me out of the resident online portal preventing me access to past correspondence between my self and past and present site managers which will also support my side of this complaint. it will also deny me access to make any payments to clear my current account balances and any future payments
