Review: I made an attempt to make my appointment at Astor Medical group on Wed., June [redacted], 2013. My appointment was for 12:30pm. In knowing I would be late, I attempted to call the receptionist to inform that I would be late. I was put on hold for about 20 minutes, the duration of time it took me to get from my residence to the train station. By the time I got to the train station, no one picked up, so I proceeded to ride the train to the stop. After getting off the train, which is only a few blocks from the practice, I called the receptionist AGAIN (a second time) to notify I was late but not far from the location. The receptionist proceeded to put me on hold again to speak with the doctor. She answered the phone to tell me the doctor would not see me because I was late, and they were booked up the rest of the day. I told the receptionist that the problem I was coming in for may have subsided, so I would not reschedule. She proceeded to tell me it was this practice's policy to charge a $50 "no-show" fee. I restrained my anger and asked if this could be billed, and she said yes. I do not believe this is a proper policy, especially since I made two call attempts to reschedule, and I made every effort to show up. This practice is charging people for being late or for not being able to show up, and they make incoming customers sign forms to adhere them to this. I would like this to be made known.Desired Settlement: I would like any attempts to charge my insurance or my credit card to be REFUNDED, and if no attempt was made, I would like this to be WAIVED.

Review: I went to Astor Medical Group for my annual physical on March [redacted], 2013. At the time I was covered under my father's insurance, CIGNA which was accepted by Astor Medical Group. I was seen by [redacted] who did a speedy physical and asked me if I was feeling okay. I told him I felt great but sometime felt tired. They did blood work and then asked me to come back in for a consultation for the blood work results. When the bills were received, I was charged twice for my initial visit on March [redacted]. There was a charge for the physical and a separate charge for a "Office Visit". Upon calling the office to ask what the charge was for, the accounting department told me that [redacted] charged me the additional office visit since he asked me how I was feeling and I told him I felt tired. Never in my life have I been charged extra by a doctor when they ask me how I feel.I was additionally charged for my second office visit which was a 5 minute visit where [redacted] told me the results of my blood work and wanted to take more blood. It is very clear to me that this Doctor's office is over charging patients and insurance companies and it is outrageous.I want the $45 I was charged for my "Office Visit" credited back.Desired Settlement: I want the $45 I was charged for my "Office Visit" on March [redacted] credited back.
