Review: I used this broker to locate an apartment. I deposited $500 to reserve the place and got a receipt that said the amount is fully refundable before the lease signing. Since I did not choose to live in that apartment and didn't go through the lease signing, I've had someone who lives near the broker office stop in with the receipt to collect the money on 2 different occasions. The broker refuses to refund the money because she claims she gave it to the landlord. Additionally, the second time my friend stopped over there, they said I would have to go in person in spite of an email exchange with the broker where she agreed that it would be fine for someone to stop in on my behalf with the receipt. It has already been 2 weeks since I decided not to take the apartment, and any attempts I've made to get my deposit back have been met with resistance from the company and the broker. In addition to turning away the person I asked to get the money on my behalf, they are not answering phone calls or messages.Desired Settlement: I would them to refund my deposit as agreed the next time I, or someone on my behalf, is able to stop in with the receipt.
