Review: I hired [redacted] from Astros to fix a pipe under my kitchen sink that was leaking (on 1/**). [redacted] came, seemingly fixed it, charged me ($280) and left. Because I am in a co-op bldg the super took a look and said that the problem was not fixed and that [redacted] had used the wrong size piece and then used tape to get the piece to stay and the leak continued (to a lesser extent). I called [redacted] (on 2/*) to discuss and after denying that he used the wrong size piece he eventually admitted that he did not fix the leak properly and that he did in fact use the wrong size piece and tape to temporary solve the problem. He agreed that he did not alert me of this before he began the work or when he was done. I asked him to either come back and properly fix the problem that I hired him for (and paid him for) or to refund my money, since I now had to get someone else to come in and fix the problem. He refused to come back and instead agreed to a refund money. A month has gone by since our conversation and he has not done this. When I tried to reach him on the phone he hung up on me and he did not respond to the letter I mailed to him or the e-mail sent to him.Desired Settlement: I paid [redacted]/Astros $280 to fix a leak in my sink. He did not properly fix the problem (which he admitted to purposely doing) and I now have to pay someone to come in and properly fix the problem. I would like the money paid to him ($280) refunded.
