We paid $269.85 March 17 for software installation on new [redacted] laptop and haven't been able to pick up computer after multiple unreturned phone calls We left a new [redacted] laptop with @Home on Feb. 27 before leaving for two weeks in FL. They were to install new software while we were gone. They failed to respond to e-mails and phone calls while we were in FL, and when we returned on March 16, we learned from notices on their windows and doors that they were in the process of moving. No one answered the door on that visit. We went back to @Home on March 17 and found an employee inside who confirmed that they were still in the process of moving and were behind on their work. The employee, John, found our laptop and said no work had been done on it yet. He asked us to pay the invoice ([redacted]) amount of $269.85, which we did; and we were assured our laptop would be ready in a few days. Our online banking statement showed the check was deposited the next day. Repeated phone calls since then have not been returned; and today (April 10) when I went by, I saw that there now are "For Lease" signs by [redacted] on the windows. I also saw that there are signs advertising a moving sale with laptops and computers starting at $100. There was no one inside when I knocked on the doors, so I took down the phone number of the Realtor, Bud [redacted] and called him to see if he had a contact number for @Home. He advised that the owner of the property has not been able to reach the lessee himself, and there are people interested in seeing the property for possibly leasing it. He offered to take my name and number and said he would contact me if he found another number to call the folks at @Home regarding our computer. Desired SettlementI want our new, never used, [redacted] computer to be returned to us with the software and services requested and paid for in the amount of $269.85.
