Rip of artes
There training is a joke and waste of money. I would boycott them for not teaching their own ethics. I with drew my daughter in June and they changed me September to December $150 for 4 months and my daughter didn't even step one foot in their studio. They basically stole $600 from my Social security checks. I live on a fix income and they ripped me off.All I want is my money back. Be honorable and respect full. This place is located on 59 ave and Thomas I give them 0 stars for being dishonest.

My name is Mr [redacted] and this location is now [redacted] s ATA Martial ArtsWe moved here from Jefferson City about a month ago and we have a separate LLC and business licenseEach school is individually owned and operated [redacted] was the owner of this location previously and I know he filed bankruptcyI would suggest Mr [redacted] contact him directly at [redacted] We have heard similar complaints from his consumers like thisWe also recommend he contact the World Headquarters and file a complaint with them to make sure the old owner is held accountable and for a resolutionMr [redacted] can call [redacted] to contact themI wish him the best of luck resolving his issue

1) We understood/negotiated the terms were for a month-to-month contract at the price of $for two kids/one night per week
2) We could cancel at any time with no penalty (outside of paying for the current month if mid billing cycle)
3) We extensively discussed with the site manger PRIOR to joining that we had the children's age, attention issues, lack of experience, and our pre-existing religious/school attendance constraints
4) We specifically asked if there were any early termination fees and were told NO (ref #2)There was no mention or point made to call our attention to the back of the membership form where there were exclusions contrary to the mangers stated positonThere was never any mention of this being a year long term contract
From our point of view, given our understanding of the agreement negotiated with the manager, we have gone above and beyond to reach a settlement with *** *** ***We continued to pay for services through Feb while we repeatedly attempted to reach someone in charge who could answer our request for early termination since December of last year
To date we have received one written letter in early Jan (US Post) from a MrB*** after an arbitrary five day acceptance due date had already passed offering to cancel early for a onetime payment of $We thanked him for the buyout opportunity and respectively asked in writing he consider a counter offer asking to accept him the lower amount for we'd already paid $We never heard back from MrB***, *** *** ***, nor *** *** that a counter offer was accepted/negotiable or offer to discuss an alternative settlement amountAt this point in late Jan we spoke with a lawyer who suggested we make one final attempt to settle/withhold payments/file a complaint with Revdex.com and VA Attorney General's office in attempt to resolve the matter prior to starting litigation
Neither the site nor and *** *** provided a point of contact at *** *** *** (while our account was still in good standing) who would respond to our repeated requests to speak to someone in charge to negotiate termsIt was not until we physically returned to the site in March to inform the manager that we were unable to get ahold of anyone from the corporate office (no responses to our Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, letters, phone calls, to speak to a supervisor) that we were going to stop making payments and potentially seek legal recourse that we were finally contacted by a MrP*** in early AprilPer the phone call with MrP*** the site manager was not supposed to negotiate terms as this had been an issue in the past, and why they outsourced membership oversight to a 3rd party companyFrom our perspective then the membership agreement is invalid as *** *** *** duly appointed representative effectively misrepresented the terms of the membership, and we should not be held to terms/nor cancelation clauses we did not understand/agree to
MrP*** said to provide our documentation and he'd refer us to MrHayes who would get back to us shortly (we waited three weeks for a response which pushed us into another billing cycle) so we we decided to contact Revdex.com/VA AG office to help settle this matterWe received the written response in the mail enclosed below from MrHayes the day after we filed our complaints
For the reasons above we again respectfully ask that *** *** *** consider the circumstances of our membership understanding, terms negotiated with *** *** *** appointed site representative, and our repeated attempts to settle this since Nov, as evidence of multiple good faith efforts to reach an agreement that fairly compensates *** *** ***, even though we've not used the services we're being compelled to pay for, ideally for only the first month, but if required we ask *** *** *** settle for the amount we've already paid under duress/membership terms we did not wittingly agree to
We understand the written terms of the agreement (we are now painfully aware of) reflect entirely different terms that those we negotiated on site/understand mistakenly believed we were bound by, and ask *** *** *** act in a consumer friendly manner and immediately release us from this contract for the amounts already paid
Regards,
*** ***

Documents provided speak to the facts of this case *** *** *** Increpeatedly work with *** *** *** to resolve this matter As stated, *** *** *** has provided all factual documents to Revdex.com under the complaint which appears to be buyer's remorse

Regarding *** *** allegation
1) The right to cancel a membership is within the terms and conditions of the enrollment agreement (contract) that both parties negotiate prior to enrollment In addition, there are three (3) business days to cancel the membership without prejudice from date of initial enrollment - which ended on midnight Oct
2) *** *** defaulted on his account payable which is administered through post enrollment administration with *** ***
3) General Counsel, MrH*** has provided two (2) responses to *** ***'s request for cancellation :
"ATA *** *** *** &
*** *** *** has requested that we notify you that your account is
delinquent and the subsequent consequences of the delinquency. Membersolutions is the billing agency
responsible for post-contract administration of accounts receivable on behalf
of *** *** ***
As previously stated to you, you
have not met any of the requirements to allow cancellation of your agreement
with *** *** ***. As the enclosed
account statement indicates, you have failed to make your March, payment
to Membersolutions. As such, you are in
default of your Agreement. Paragraph
of your Agreement provides that upon default, at the option of Black Belt
Academy, the entire unpaid balance of the Agreement becomes due and
payable. At this time *** *** ***
does not wish to accelerate the entire balance, but does insist that you make
to Membersolutions your required March and April payments, and then continue
making the monthly payments as set forth in the Agreement. Should you fail to honor the Agreement, the Black
Belt Academy reserves the right to accelerate payment of the entire balance
due."
In closing, *** *** enrolled his children for martial arts lesson, Oct 2014, and elected to make monthly tuition payments; payments on Dec (late payment: due on Nov 14), Jan and Feb No payments received since Feb which is grounds for default per paragraph of the enrollment agreement
In accordance with the terms and conditions of *** ***'s agreement he has defaulted of his agreement by the negating his 25th March and subsequent April scheduled payments
*** ***'s request for cancellation did not meet the terms and conditions of the negotiated agreement subsequently *** *** has negated on his payments to Membersolutions and has now involved the Revdex.com on a matter in which he declines responsibility.
*** *** failed to honor his portion of this Agreement, and while *** *** *** reserves the right to accelerate payment of
the entire balance due, *** *** *** has complied with the Revdex.com's request for information notwithstanding

Contacted [redacted] and he came out and measured my kitchen, and was very pleasant and courteous, had my new kitchen Cabinets in stalled by the end of the next week. I would recommend them to anyone looking to do renovations to their kitchen or bathrooms.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
[redacted]s ATA is still part of the same family.  He sold to his relative.  He put all of his locations in individual companies.  He still operates one of his locations in a different part of the state.  They are still operating under the ATA umbrella and are still held accountable.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Review: My Daughter [redacted] joined Master [redacted] ATA Academy in Irvine, CA. She took and passed her black belt test almost one year ago, NO CERTIFICATE

My Daughter [redacted] joined Master [redacted] ATA Academy in Irvine, CA. She took and passed her black belt test almost one year ago,STILL NO BLACK BELT CERTIFICATE HAS BEEN GIVEN !!

We have personally left inumerable messages at Master [redacted] ATA academy in Irvine, CA with no response from them in any form.

We have visited the ATA Irvine academy many times to request the certificate, [redacted] is never there and his staff are always unaware !!

My Daughter has taken lessons for martial arts in this center, ATA [redacted], Master [redacted] academy for almost 4 years.

Not receiving her well deserved black belt certificate is emotionally and psychologically traumatizing her.

Its like no validation for her hard work .

I am not sure why her certificate is being withheld?

We have paid all our fees, exam dues, etc. and also paid regularly at times even when she was on vacation.

There is no reason for a 8 year old child to be traumatized this way.

I just want my daughter's Black Belt Certificate ASAP .

Thanks

Dr [redacted]Desired Settlement: I just want my daughter's Black Belt Certificate mailed ASAP .

Thanks
