Response to Ms [redacted] ’s complaint [redacted] We have reviewed the complaint filed by Ms [redacted] and respectfully decline to replace her entire fence Austex Fence & Deck does not sell or install defective or substandard wood products/materials/fences We have been contracting with the same wood distributor for many years and have found the quality of their material to be very good Wood materials such as 4xposts and pickets are impacted by the weather Whether it is extreme temperature variations both hot/cold or wet weather will have an expansion/contraction effect on wood Different woods will check differently depending upon the amount of rain/heat we experience thus causing the splitting/checking The key thing to remember is that these checks/splits do not affect the structural integrity of a wood product.Best Regards, [redacted] | CEO & OwnerAustex Fence & Deck [redacted] **., Austin, TX [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: The company did not address all the issues.  If they won't replace the fence (which I feel has defective wood) are they going to come fix the areas that don't touch the ground and my animals are able to get out - They want me to pay additional money to have it fixed but I put up the fence for the sole purpose of keeping my dogs in and they did not install it properly to keep the dogs in.  They fixed a couple of spots then refused to do any more unless I paid them more money.  When they installed the fence I was given a year warranty for any problems/issues and they have done a half as job of fixing the issues and refuse to do anymore without additional money.  I want boards put around the entire fence so the dogs cannot get under/through the pickets where they don't touch the ground.
