Tell us w June 7, 2017  [redacted]Revdex.com330 N. Wabash Ave., Ste. 2006Chicago, IL 60611 Re:       Response to Complaint #[redacted]            [redacted]  Dear Ms....

[redacted]: BCU is in receipt of correspondence from your office regarding a complaint filed by [redacted].  Please accept this as BCU’s response to the complaint.   On April 18, 2017, [redacted] telephoned BCU to report a recurring fraudulent credit card transaction on her account from Dropbox for $9.99.  The Member Relations Representative emailed [redacted] a fraud affidavit to initiate further investigation of those charges and informed [redacted] that the reported fraudulent credit card ending in [redacted] would be blocked as lost/stolen, and a new credit card ending in [redacted] would be sent to her via expedited shipping for delivery on April 19, 2017. On May 9, 2017, [redacted] called to inform BCU that the same fraudulent charge from Dropbox, totaling $9.99, had posted to the new credit card ending in 4088. The Member Relations Representative reached out to the Card Services Department to investigate the fraudulent charge. Upon further research, it was determined that the $9.99 transaction had posted to the new credit card due to VISA Account Updater ([redacted]).  [redacted] occurs when a merchant is enrolled in automatic payment updates with VISA, allowing for a recurring transaction to automatically carry over to a customer’s new credit card in the event it is ever blocked, lost, or stolen.  [redacted] is relatively new VISA feature intended to assist consumers who have their credit cards compromised by eliminating the need to re-enroll their replacement cards with existing reoccurring transactions that they may have with their merchants.   Unfortunately, in [redacted]’s case, this recurring transaction was being reported as fraud.  After consulting [redacted], BCU’s credit card vendor, the Member Relations Representative informed [redacted] that she must speak directly with Dropbox to ensure the cessation of the transactions on her credit card and to prevent those transactions from being posted to her credit card in the future. We understand the frustration that caused [redacted] to file this complaint and acknowledge that she is not at fault.  On May 31, 2017, BCU contacted VISA and [redacted] to inquire more about the [redacted] process. As the processes involving [redacted] are still new to the credit union, BCU is currently working to establish procedures which will allow us to opt a member out of [redacted], upon request, or work directly with VISA to stop a merchant from automatically carrying over recurring transactions.  We thank [redacted] for her patience and appreciate her feedback as by investigating her complaint, we have learned more about the [redacted] process and will be able to use this information to improve our procedures in the future for other members who might experience similar issues with reoccurring payments.  We look forward to continue serving [redacted] in her financial matters at BCU.  If you or [redacted] has any questions with regard to this matter, please feel free to contact me at [redacted].  Sincerely,   [redacted]Consumer Loan Servicing Manager hy here...

Review: atco, was to come the day after columbus day to do a new roof. it was a rip off. I had an estimate for 6,000.00 for a roof to be repitched. [redacted] walsh came to my home and said his boss said I didn't need to repitch my roof . I agreed to remove roof down to plywood and replace any rotted wood. I went to the catskills and returned home monday evening to debris on my porch floor and my bathroom floor. I had to clean up their mess that they left. next morning I called and complained that a mess was left for me and why they came and did my roof on a holiday and when no one was home.I was scheduled for tuesday and didn't agree to monday or not to be there. [redacted] came wednesday to apologize for the mess. he said they couldn't come into my home to clean up because I wasn't home. I paid him 4,575.00 and to do the job on tuesday only to have to clean up my home as well as my property. wednesday he came for a check for the remainder I owed. they charged me 200.00 for 1 plywood. I have no clue what was done or used because they came when no one was home.adam said I needed a new skylight and I said no . nothing was wrong with it. it opened and didn't leak and my home has to be knocked down because of sandy. I replaced the roof because my insurance was cancelled because they wanted my roof fixed even though it was to be demolished. I had paid my insurance up until 2014 and they still cancelled me. one nice day I went to open my skylight in my bathroom and it wouldn't open. I called atco and told them my skylight wasn't opening. I was told I would have to pay for them to come out and see what the problem was because he could guarantee that they did nothing to my skylight. my husband agreed to pay because we knew nothing was wrong with it. two weeks later, no one came and my husband went to see what was the problem and they silicone it shut. so my husband took off the silicone. I don't know if there is any problem because we haven't had rain since he removed the silicone. buyerDesired Settlement: beware.they come when your not home without your permission and charge you allot and don't stand behind their product. no one should do business with a company that doesn't stand by their word and got their check from me on wednesday and cashed it immediately . that goes to show you that they knew they did wrong and that they were afraid that I would cancell the check. I want others to beware. question their motivies because I found out the hard way that they are not to be trusted.I would like to have the plywood money returned as well as a fee for my cleanup of the interior of my home as well as the outside of my property where debris was hidden in my flower beds and nails on my driveway where I showed them because I just paid 750.00 for new tires from sandy. someone needs to be held accountable for their actions. why give a contract when you do what you want and there is no one to make them accountable for their actions. the only way is to hurt them in the pocketbook.show them

Response:

Mr and Mrs [redacted] were contracted by us to replace the roof on their home , indicating they were anxious too get it done asap due to leaks on the low shed slope area. They were contacted Thurs and Friday letting them know we would be there.

The roof was torn off and the shed roof low slope area was rotten . We replaced 5 sheets of plywood and only charged for 4.If they look in the contract, number [redacted],the second line in the scope of work says "remove roof down to plywood. Inspect and remove, replace any damaged plywood.($50 per sheet not included in the estimate price)This is standard industry practice as you cant est plywood until shingles are off.

The billing should have been clearer as it was item 1 plywood $200.00 instead of Item 1-4 sheets plywood at $50.00=$200.00.I discounted the fifth sheet for free.

We then ice and watered the whole surface and around the skylight. We never touched ,re adjusted or removed and reset the existing skylite.

Mrs [redacted] ,called and spoke to me personally to come look at the skyiite. When I mentioned this would be a billable repair she wasn't happy.

I spoke with [redacted] and he was there during the job and met with Mrs [redacted] after the job was done .Our crew tarped the yard and also magnetically swept and used a blower on the lawn He offered to clean any debris left on site and was told, it was minimal and they were happy with the job and paid him

We are very concerned about our reputation and doing things right the first time. In this case maybe there was a miscommunication but there was no overcharging of work done.

The roof is under our labor and material warranty and the product has its material warranty in force.

There is no rebate or price adjustment warranted.
