Review: Every year in March, [redacted]., our small non-profit that works to improve the quality of life in the Upper East Side and Harlem, has an annual benefit to raise money. In past years, we hired ATD Audio Visual to provide us with a television so that we could display photos and other relevant information about our work during the benefit dinner. This year, in February, we were deciding whether or not we could afford the television again this year, so we requested a price quote from ATD Audio Visual so we could decide if we thought it was worth it. ATD came back to us with a quote, but we thought that it was too expensive, so we ended up finding an alternative solution. In March, we had our fundraiser, without a television from ATD. But, when we got our March bank statement, we had a charge for $345 dollars from ATD Audio Visual for Equipment Rental. To be clear: at no point around or during the fundraiser were we contacted by ATD about a rental order, and at no point did anyone from ATD appear at our event and try to deliver equipment. So it's not as if they mistakenly sent us the equipment, which we would have happily addressed. They simply charged our credit card for a rental that we never officially ordered, and which they never even tried to deliver (mistakenly or otherwise). Unfortunately, our administrator left during this time, so we didn't notice the charge until June, when our new administrator was reconciling our bank records. When our new administrator called ATD Audio Visual to request a record of the transaction that contained the signature which would authorize charging [redacted]'s account, the employee on the phone claimed that producing such a record was 'impossible', and then hung up the phone. Subsequent attempts to call and access a copy of the signed receipt have also been denied. Our assumption is that ATD Audio Visual stored our credit card information during a previous transaction and fraudulently charged us for a service that was never officially authorized.Desired Settlement: We would like ATD Audio Visual to produce the receipts for this particular transaction, particularly the ones that contain signatures authorizing them to charge our account. If they can prove that we did in fact sign off on this transaction, then we will happily let the matter go. If they cannot, however, we would like to be reimbursed in full.
