On 10/24/18 Athens moving experts where contracted to provide services for a move from one residence to another. During this move damages to a door frame in the new home (new construction) done by Athens employees was reported to manager *** same day. When I spoke to Mr. he requested a written estimate for repair cost to be reimbursed. On 11/14/18 an estimate was provided to Mr. for $146.30 he states he would only cover half of the repair cost even though company employees directly caused the damage to the homes door frame. This is the same attitude Mr. took in the initial conversation about reimbursement for repairs when the initial damage occurred 10/24/18 not taking responsibility for your employees negligence and not providing stellar customer service by making sure your customers are taken care of.

On 10/24/18 we were hired to complete a move for a 4 bedroom house in Garner, NC. Our average time to complete a 4 bedroom move is 7-12 hours which was made clear during the initial estimate. The movers arrived at 10:30 am and began working when they were told they must be done 5 pm. The movers were instructed by the customer to move faster and to stop wrapping furniture with protective material in order to complete the job faster. Multiple times we received calls from our movers saying they were being rushed and instructed to move items without being properly wrapped. Our movers are trained to wrap all of the customer's belongings to ensure maximum protection. Customers have the option to instruct the movers not to wrap certain items in order to expedite the process; however we advise against this as it does not allow us to guarantee maximum protection. One of the items that remained unwrapped during the unload damaged a door frame which could have been avoided if properly protected. This 4 bedroom move was completed in 6.5 hours which is half an hour less than the estimated minimum to complete a 4 bedroom move. We offered to pay for half of the repairs as kind gesture even though the customer was notified of potential risk, but the offer was declined. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused and we have taken action to prevent a similar incident in the future.
