Atherton Painting & Construction, LLC Reviews (4)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowThank you for your email response to our complaint regarding Atherton Construction in which you gave us his response to our complaintWe just returned from a day vacation and did not have access to email during that timeIt is unfortunate but MrAtherton is not being truthfulPlease see emails regarding the electrical inspectionWe finally backed down on the inspection due to the fact the job took so long and we had a pre-planned vacation at the time the electrical inspector would have come to inspect the work You can see, however, that we insisted upon a licensed electrician at firstAfter sending us one electrician who was not licensed, he then sent us yet another unlicensed electricianThat is when we called the city who offered that it could be inspected by themUnfortunately, since the job was so late in getting completed, and Atherton told us that we were to call the inspector, and we had a scheduled vacation the morning after, Saturday, the installation which was completed late in the day on Friday, the job was not inspectedAs you can see, my wife was quite adamant about first having a licensed electrician and after, having the job inspectedDue to the multitude of problems with their job, we finally just gave up! The "beautiful" (in James Atherton's exact words) painting job required hours of fixes and even then was not completedWe gave up on that as well(A paper that was sent to Atherton via his fpainter is copied and enclosed.) The reason for the concrete slab was a moisture problem at the base of the threshold of the door requiring a slab much larger, and installed upon gravel or stone to solve the problem MrAtherton should have known thisWe certainly told him exactly what we wanted and in fact, his workerMark, when questioned about how the concrete was installed told us that the gravel had been laid before pouring the concreteMy wife was quite adamant that she wanted gravel laid prior to the concrete being laidIt was much too small and since we still have the brokconcrete that they laid and had to be removed , we will measure it and take picturesThe deck came out wellThere are a few problems that we will address with a reputable contractor in the spring. The deck is not a part of our complaintFinally, MrAtherton, when sent an email regarding the concrete on the house and door never responded to my husband What he said about offering to clean the concrete off the house is untrueAnd, shouldn't he have offered to clean the concrete off the door and fix the shoddy slab as well? Once he began making accusations of drunkenness and flirting behavior on my wife's part, we ceased all communication with him as it would have been fruitlessIf you need documentation, please contact usWe have it all-pictures, an audio of him inspecting his "beautiful'' (as he states) painting job wherein he mentions to us that the painter may have been drunkAnd, if it was so beautiful, why did it take hours (and more from another painter) to correct? Sincerely,*** ***

All I wish, was that James gave me a quality carpenter the first time and then we would not have had a problem The young man named Michael was sent on a holiday weekend and did a finishing job quickly and efficiently.still was concerned that James told me this complaint would not have been published due to being an acquaintance of the Revdex.com representative, and was worthy of the Revdex.com letterThank you, *** ** ***

Revdex.com spoke to James at business and the following was relayed: We painted the interior of their homeWhen they returned they reported back that there were several areas that needed to be touched upA worker spent days redoing the paint touch ups, which the consumer was happy withThe concrete
slab was framed and new concrete poured, which we poured at 5" instead of the usual 1/2"Everything was done up to codeWe built a large deck which was inspectedWe did the electric which they were happy with and refused electrician inspectionsWhen we were notified about the concrete splatter I offered to come clean and was told we were not allowed thereThe customer sent a certified letter stating we would not be paid until she was satisfiedShe paid in full as she was satisfied and there is no balance due

Revdex.com spoke to James at business and the following was relayed:The customer went and hired my employee directly from beneath me and broke our contract in an effort to save money. I fired my employee because of this. He failed to put on the last step and now the consumer wants me to fix it.
