Review: We scheduled a moving service with Athletic Movers on Aug [redacted] from a 1bedroom apt to a 2bedroom both located in [redacted] with a distance of 1.6miles. The original moving quote we got is $95/hr with 3men and 1 truck plus half and hour travel time and any additional material that facilitates our move. The service is extremely dissatisfactory for the following reasons.

1. Very inefficient moving service. We have booked with both buildings for service elevators. However, it took 3 men 8 hours to finished. During the move, I barely see two of them. They were constantly texting or talking on the phone and I’m no surprise that then they asked us to charge their phone.

2. Overcharged for half an hour ($50). Towards the end of the moving, the movers wanted to charge us both ways as travel time (aka, changed from 0.5hr to 1hr). We even called the manager but his guy called his own manager [redacted] (his original words) and added the additional 0.5hr as moving time and refused to reassemble our furnitures because of this.

3. Threatened for more than 25% tips after which he finally reluctantly reassembled our furnitures. We paid $160 tips for unqualified service.

4. Damage to our furnitures. We got one broken vase, one broken lamp and several scratches on my office table. (both vase and lamp were bought for $70 each) After negotiating for two weeks, the manager Rudy claimed that insurance company will only refund for $9.

5. Closed to moving out of our original building almost had a quarrel with movers hired by another unit. Due to the inefficiency, the move were gone out of my scheduled time for service elevator (9am-1pm). There’s another moving company who booked after 1PM. My building manager helped us not getting into any trouble.

6. We spent 2wks trying to negotiate with Rudy but only received delayed response and ridiculous refund estimate and later on little or no communication at all.Desired Settlement: a refund of $350 consist of $50 overcharged travel time, $160 tips and $140 for broken vase and lamp
