While we regret that even one of our patients is not satisfied with any portion of their experience at Athletico, we have investigated this matter thoroughly and we believe that we are billing the patient appropriately. Our records indicate that this patient scheduled an appointment with us and
at the time of scheduling advised us that she had a script from her physician and gave us her insurance information to be billed. Our complimentary screens are for potential patients that have injured themselves or think they may have injured themselves but have not yet been to a physicianAn example of a ‘screen’ patient may be a high school athlete with pain in his/her shin who wants to decipher shin splints vsa fracture prior to a meet. In this example the athlete would call and ask for a screening, he/she would also confirm that they have not yet been to see a physicianWe would not collect insurance information at that time and the patient would be entered into our system as a ‘screen’ patient and be seen for approximately minutes to evaluate and would be referred to a physician if necessary. If a patient would have initially called and requested a screen and did not advise us of the MD script, we would have scheduled her as a ‘Screen’ but when she presented with an MD Script we would have changed her appointment type to an “Initial Evaluation” this was not changed in our system which means that we initially scheduled her appropriately with an MD Script as an ‘Initial Evaluation’ patient. Regarding the patient in question, we scheduled her for an Initial Evaluation, she presented with a script, we verified her insurance and advised her of her plan coverage which did include a $yet unmet annual deductibleHer insurance company processed her claim and applied the balance to her deductibleShe is responsible to pay her deductible. We do offer free of charge budget plans to accommodate our patients

Athletico will accept the patients terms and will accept payment in full to settle the account for $169.00 Sincerely,
