Since the June 10, 2020 delivery of a new Athlon rifle scope Model #: ***, the elevation turret has failed to function normally. The defects are so severe that they prohibit use of the scope.
Elevation turret movement is jagged, gritty and loud. It is difficult to make precision measurements.
Athlon accepted the scope for warranty service in late June but returned it without correcting the issue, advising that it was functioning normally.
It is not normal. I have had the scope checked by *** in Spanish Fort, Alabama (a certified Athlon retailer) and Mr. verified that the elevation AND windage turrets were defective. I also had ***, a precision rifle marksman and military marksmanship trainer who owns *** in Kingsville, Texas verify that the turrets were defective.
Either my scope fell through the system without a proper evaluation or the company engages in this type of delaying tactic to avoid honoring their lifetime guarantee.
In any case, I am requesting assistance from the Revdex.com because this was a $1200.00 purchase.

We received the Ares ETR riflescope in our warranty department on 6/25 and ran a complete and thorough quality test on the optic. The customer's initial warranty complaint was that the eleavtion and windage turrets felt different with the elevation turret having a rougher more jagged feel. After inspection it was determined that there were no issues with the turrets or tracking. The scope performed above spec for all tests and was returned to the customer. It is normal for the turrets on this model to feel different because the elevation turret is an exposed stainless steel design and the windage turret is locking. The locking turret is an added feature although does not feel as crisp as the elevation turret. We also spoke with ***s in Spanish Fort, Alabama. They are a dealer of ours and familiar with our line of optics. *** confirmed that he did look at the Ares ETR and the two turrets felt different but he did not feel they were defective. If the customer wants to send the scope in again under warranty we would be happy to have our warranty manager evaluate the optic and verify our earlier findings.

I am rejecting this response because:
A male from Athlon did speak with Mr. however the information relayed to the Revdex.com regarding his evaluation is, to diplomatically understate the issue, wholly inaccurate.
I spoke with *** today (Oct. 01) and he stated that he advised the Athlon employee that while he did not have an opportunity to test my scope's tracking, there was a definite audible and tactile difference between the windage and elevation turret operations.
The elevation turret was not as responsive or smooth and was gritty to operate. (His words were similar to mine because the problem describes the feel and sound of the turret operations exactly.)
He relayed to the Athlon employee that there was indeed something wrong with the scope.
I will resend the scope to Athlon however I hope that they will reconsider their closing statement that a re-evaluation will merely provide the same results as the first.
This specific product is defective as has been easily and immediately determined by their dealer and industry professionals.
I would not be going through all this if it didn't function properly.
