I had my car worked on because it was in a wreck. When I picked it up and paid $4,700 I left there and the car was making a loud noise like a hole was in the muffler and the airbag light was on. [redacted] told me the computer had not synced up with the airbag sensor light. So I took it back to [redacted] to check the loud noise. He said he checked everything including the motor mounts and found nothing wrong. I left with the car and the noise was still very loud. So I took it to my mechanic and he said one of the motor mounts were cracked and $370 later and the noise was gone. The airbag light was checked by my mechanic and he said there was a short somewhere between the sensor and the bag and would fix it for $350. I went back to [redacted] and showed him my invoice that I paid to fix the motor mounts and ask him to at least split the bill because he checked the motor mounts twice and did not fix anything, that was included in the $4,700 as was the airbag. The airbag itself was $700 and I don't know if it works or not because the light is always on. So what I thought was a fully repaired car for his quote of $4.700 now add $720. [redacted] said he would fix the airbag but is going to charge me. Before the wreck the airbag light was off and no loud noise from the motor mounts. This is a lot of money for me and my family. I ask [redacted] to just write me a $500 check to offset some of the $720 that I had to pay. [redacted] has been really ugly about the whole thing. I think he should be responsible for at least the $500. I do not trust him now to fix my car. I want a settlement!!!!!!! He is not honoring his work, he just wants more money.Product_Or_Service: worked on the car a few weeks agoDesired SettlementI want $500 to offset the $720 that I had to pay to fix what he was suppose to fix.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted], ownerContact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]In response to Mr. [redacted] complaint. I would like to start off with saying that this car had been totaled 2 times in 5 months, which I had repaired both times. I also told Mr. [redacted] both times that with the damage to the car, that the price I gave him was an estimate on the damage that I repaired. That it may be more if there were other issues than what I had originally seen. On any totaled vehicle there are prone to be hidden damages. On numerous occasions, I told Mr. [redacted] to bring his car back to me and that I would make the repairs that were unseen on original estimate. The next thing I know, Mr. [redacted] "texts" me to tell me he took his car to someone else and had the repairs done. It was his choice to have someone else do the repairs. I do not have a problem with him taking the car somewhere else, but I will not pay for someone else to make the repairs when I offered to do them. I received multiple texts from Mr. [redacted], and each time I told him to bring the car to me. And each time, he would text me the day after scheduled time to bring car in, stating that he was not able to make it when he said he would be there. Both times the vehicle was totaled and I made the repairs, I specifically told Mr. [redacted] that if he had any problems at all, to bring the car back to me and I would correct the issues if any found. I have numerous texts stating (during non-business hours) that it was my fault that he and his family were not able to go on family vacation, that his wife has cancer, all because he had to pay to have his car fixed. I did not total the car, I repaired the car both times just as I would for every other customer. I repeatedly told him to bring the car to me, he chose to take the car somewhere else and then shows up at my shop wanting me to write him a $500 check. I never got ugly with him, I only stated my point. He continued with the nasty text messages and threatened to bash my name and my business on social media. At that point, I was not quite as nice as previously, but never was I "ugly" with him. Mr. [redacted] stated that he would not stop until he received a settlement from me, which I do not owe him a penny. My work that I do daily at my business are my life and would not risk problems with my customers, my customers are how I make my living.
