I had a surgery scheduled late February 2020 with Dr. Titus *** that was canceled by his office a day prior to the surgery. They advised that Dr. *** had a family emergency and could not complete my surgery until late March. During my preoperative appointment on 2/17/2020 I paid $850.84 to Dr. ***'s office. Additionally, on 2/20/2020 I pad $650 to his surgery center, Surgery Center of Atlanta. I have contacted both Dr. ***'s office and the Surgery Center via phone and email on several occasions where I continue to get the runaround and no refunds. Please see the timeline of events...
2/25: Received call from Charlene at Dr. ***'s office advising that Dr. *** had a family emergency and would not be able to complete my surgery until late March. I requested a refund of what I paid to Dr. *** and to the Surgery Center. She advised that she would pass *** message to her Office Manager, Lolita Pompey for a refund, but that I would need to contact the Surgery Center directly for that refund.
2/27: I called and spoke with Erica at the Surgery Center who advised that she would partner with their billing department to process a refund.
3/2: LM on the general mailbox at the Surgery Center.

3/3: Rcvd a call back from Erica at the Surgery Center advising that she would follow-up with Accounting to process my refund.
3/3: Rcvd a call from Lisa *** (XXX-XXX-XXXX) from the Surgery Center advising that her boss, Dr. Sylva advised that they would not process a refund due to the insurance company's balance from a surgery that I had there 10/2019. I followed up with my insurance carrier, UMR to find out that they had not been paid due to their own error of not providing the completed medical notations from the surgery. UMR also informed me that they had sent correspondences to both Dr. *** and the Surgery Center of Atlanta on multiple occasions requesting a corrected report.

Refund The Surgery Center of Atlanta never advised me of a balance and was not requiring outstanding payments to be rectified prior to scheduling and taking my payment for the surgery that was scheduled to take place late February 2020. This only became an issue when I requested a refund for a surgery that the surgeon canceled. I am requesting the $650 paid directly to the Surgery Center of Atlanta, and the $850.84 paid directly to Dr. ***'s office refunded back to my card immediately.
