ACE was contracted with us to replace the siding on our house in Wilmington, NC. They had done work for others in our neighborhood with good reviews. We gave Brian a deposit (foolishly) and never saw him again. No work was completed, no money refunded, just gone. Went to court, sued and won judgements against ACE for the original amount and damages. (case number 05cvd356). We have never seen a penny of this money. Pursued ACE through the N.C. legal system and find out that there are DOZENS of others in SE N.C. chasing Brian for money and fixing the work that he has actually completed. I am not a former employee, just an irritated former customer who was ripped off. Maybe this will keep others from the same fate. This company currently does business primarily in the Jacksonville, NC area. Wherever I see this company advertised, I will share my experience so others do not get taken like I did.

It truly was not a hard decision to hire[redacted] to do the work on my home. After speaking with him once I knew my home would be in good hands. He gave me a reasonable price, set up date and time for it to begin and a rough estimate of how long it would take. Everything[redacted] stated in his first visit up untill the last stood to be 100% true. Being a roofers daughter I have some knowledge in this area and[redacted] had no problem answering my questions, concerns and putting me at ease. My roof looks amazing and that was just the beginning of jobs he will do on my home. A+ quality work and company!!!

[redacted] and [redacted] came out to my residence on 4/4 to assess some recent storm leakage to my roof (in combination with what's likely also a builder defect). They seemed professional and had the apparent credentials to back their 35 yrs of experience. Upon leaving my home they assured me to drop off samples by the end of the week and to provide a bid. It's now 4/11 and I have not heard from them. I spoke to * on the phone on 4/8 and she said * would be calling to explain my bid. I have not heard from them since. No returned calls. Their website motto is "no hassles, just results." All hassles here... This is a shame as they would have earned our business.","neg-2

They were way more professional than any other company and definitely take pride in their work. Id definitely recommend their services to anyone and guarantee they would be pleased!!!

The customer service we received was amazing. Both [redacted] and [redacted] were knowledgable and very good at explaining everything to us.
The workers showed up early in the morning and worked hard throughout the day to complete our roof. There was very little to no mess left when they were done.
We'd highly recommend them!","pos-1

The 26 gauge metal roof this company put on our rental property by has been leaking and rusting since installation. They have not solved the problem. On 4/11/15 my husband and I contracted with Atlantic Coastal Enterprises to install a 26 gauge coated metal roof on our rental property at [redacted]. They did not finish installation until mid June 2015.Mold and water damage was noticed by a renter in October. We contacted the company many times since then to get things sealed up and water damage repaired. They continue to promise assistance but do not actually show up. No one returns our calls but sometimes we do get text or email with excuses and promises. Today a repairman was supposed to be at the property by 9 a.m. It is noon and he has not arrived. It is obvious that we need Revdex.com's assistance in resolving this matter and/or to protect other consumers. The following is copied from our contract:Remove existing shingles & felt paper on home, not screen room. Remove rotten sheathing boards as discussed. Spray for mold & mildew. Install Ice & Water Sheild along all edges and vent boots to prevent uplift and water penetration. Install Rhino Roof Synthetic Underlayment on entire roof surface. Apply metal eve trim along entire roof perimeter.Supply & install CMP 26 gauge R profile sheet panels, each panel installed with umbrella screws on top of ribs. Install vent boots. Cut opening in ridge for adequate ventilation. Install filtered ridge vent. Overlay with metal ridge cap. Clean property thoroughly for debris & nails. We do every job to manufacturers specifications to ensure each roof has a warranty! This price includes all materials, labor clean up & dump fees.10 Year Workmanship WarrantyManufacturer's WarrantyDesired SettlementWe want Atlantic Coastal Enterprises to repair the leaks in the roof and and interior water damages. We also request a remedy for the rusting roof or a replacement due to the substandard quality of the materials. Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: (XXX)XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@atlanticcoastal.orgWent to the property yesterday the same time she was writing this complaint. Her roof is not leaking. After sending my guys down there. The problem is from a poor painting job. She signed a paper releasing us from all responsibility.Consumer Response I did sign a note that indicated damage to the 1st floor bedroom ceiling was indeed due to improper work by painters and released Atlantic Coastal Enterprises from any further responsibility to repair that area of the ceiling. I did not sign anything that absolves them of responsibility for a rusty roof or water damage to the 2nd floor bathroom ceiling. The employee agreed that the caulking on the pipe over that bathroom had been improperly done which is why it leaked. They cleaned the mold on the ceiling and sprayed midewcide. They also confirmed that the entire roof has rust on it...not just the screws. A properly installed metal roof using proper materials should not have rust on it after only a few months. This rust was first evident in September 2015. We want the rust problem addressed. The following email regarding the findings of Atlantic Coastal Enterprise representatives was sent to [redacted] by my husband, [redacted] on Friday, 6/17/16 at 8:21 p.m. [redacted] - Just to be clear, [redacted] did not arrive at [redacted], the property that you did the work on, until 1:30 p.m. today. He and [redacted] inspected the roof and confirmed that there is rust on the roof. They sealed the rusty screws and inspected for leaks. They did discover bad sealing/caulking at the vent pipe above the ocean side bathroom which resulted in damage to our 2nd floor bathroom ceiling. [redacted] had been here in early Spring to repair a leak but you did not respond to [redacted]'s email that asked you to advise her of the date that he would be at the property so she could give him an access code to enter and take care of the interior water damage due to the leaking roof. He did not have full access and was not aware of the full scope of the problem and was unable to fully address and correct the damage inside. The rust problem still needs to be addressed. This is due to improper installation. We expect a timely remedy.[redacted]Final Business Response You stated you released us from the work on the first floor??? The roof wouldn't have leaked to the first floor? They fixed the ceiling on the second story where the roof is, it wasn't from the roof. It was from a poor painting job. Please admit your wrong & move on. We do the best possible job. We don't perform substandard work! The roof hasn't leaked since we put the metal on. I have sent our guys 3 times to look to see what they were referring too. The problem is the painter that did the repair where your roof leaked before we installed a new roof. He didn't seal it properly, the stain bleed through. You thought the roof was leaking. It wasn't our fault! [redacted] checked the entire roof. He also pulled the OLD caulking off, and revealed each vent as a precaution. We fixed your ceiling when it wasn't our fault, out of common curtesy. Your roof is not rusting, NOWHERE! The specks of rust you see are from where they cut the panels during installation. The fragments of metal shaving is what you see on your roof. The roof is suppose to have a "Sweet Water Wash" twice a year as recommended by the manufacture. If it's was cleaned properly, it wouldn't;t have fragments of shard metal pieces.

Around Oct 2014 I had several contractors come out to my house to give me bids on work to be done at my house. I meet [redacted] and [redacted] from Atlantic Coastal Enterprises on Oct 29 and they gave me a bid of $16,000. I decided to hire them and on Nov 12 I paid them a deposit of $8,000. Somewhere around March 2015 they did put a new roof on my house. May 1 I received a text from [redacted] that they will be starting on getting everything else done in the next couple of weeks. Come Aug nothing else had been done so I sent a text on Aug 17 when the rest was going to be finished. [redacted] texted back Aug 19 in about 2 weeks that I was next. Come Dec 1 nothing else had been done so I texted [redacted] that it's been over a year and only the roof had been done and ask her to call me. She texted back Dec 3 that she will let me know when they will be out to do some of the work. I text back it's been a year and I wanted to hire someone else that could do the work in a reasonable time. She said they will be out in the middle of next week and nobody showed. Asked for half of my deposit back with no answer. I've called and texted asking them to call me so we can settle this and they never called. I've been waiting over a year for them to do the work. I know a new roof on a double wide does not cost $8000. Will have to take them to small claims court to try to get some of my money back and hire someone who will do what they say.

Company verbally and in writing provided us a warranty and guarantee of workmanship. Company is refusing to honor this, and correct the errors.Company was hired in September of 2015 to replace entire roof, workmanship guaranteed! Job was completed on time, and from the ground looked great. Our home was inspected in September of 2016, for a pending sale. Inspection found the overhang was not correct and there are areas of [redacted] missing (we have pictures). On September 22, 2016, we contacted [redacted], who answers all telephone enquiries, no matter what phone number you call, with our concerns. She agreed verbally to "fix it immediately, no problem". I forwarded her the inspection report and all pictures. My husband received a text from her on 9/23/2016 stating her people would be at the home site by "Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest". No one showed up to complete the work. My husband attempted to make contact with [redacted] that day, and every day thereafter. We have sent repeated emails, texts and phone calls, which she refuses to now answer. She has called my husbands phone and let it ring once, then hung up (apparently to make it look like she is making attempts???) Today, 9/30/2016, I called her number from my work phone and she answered!! As soon as I identified myself, she hung up. It should be noted that my husband and I have all documentation to support every statement made in this claim. If we receive no response from the company by Monday, October 1, 2016, we will be forced to hire a different contractor to fulfill Atlantic Coastal Enterprises responsibilities, or risk losing the sale of our home. [redacted] assured us her company would fulfill its obligations in a timely manner, to ensure the smooth sale of our home. I have texts from her stating she has reviewed the pictures from the appraisal and would fix the issues.Desired SettlementI expect this company to fulfill their obligations in the legal manner in which they are required.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] Operations CoordinaContact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: [redacted]@atlanticcoastal.orgPlease be honest & tell the truth. I spoke with your husband Thursday. I said as soon as weather permitted we would address any concerns. I left both phones sitting in a estimates detached garage, they werent aware till the wife went to check the mail and heard a phone ring. I retrieved it on Saturday. Thats 24 hours you didnt have contact with me. You started calling our business phone at 6 am on friday morning, even my personal cell. You called 67 times just to 1 phone on friday. I always answer the phones. I spoke with your husband saturday after the customers brought my phones back. We honor our workmanship! Id apprieciate it if you remove this slanderous review!Consumer Response All information contained within the body of this complaint, as written by me, is a true and correct accounting of our attempts to have our roof corrected. Due to the time constraints of the due diligence repairs required for our home, when the company representative stated that no one would be sent until we removed the "review", my husband and I hired a different contractor to complete all repairs. We have no compromise settlement to offer, as the repairs are now complete.Final Business Response At this point I'm confused. I spoke with Mr. [redacted] Monday, Wednesday & Thursday of last week. It was understood it has been raining in every town we had a job in progress, we complete our tasks in the order received. I also understood the urgency of the Mr. [redacted]'s request. It was further understood that we don't normally risk sending our guys on steep roofs in the rain, it's an unsafe business practice to put your technicians at risk. You wasn't in contact with our company for 24 hours which you started calling a business & personal cell phone at 6 am on Friday. We open at 9am to 5pm. Not even 24 hours later you write a factious review? [redacted] texted Saturday afternoon when our customer brought her phones to her. No response from the [redacted] Saturday or Sunday after the review was made. Sent someone Monday morning. Made several attempts to contact[redacted] & [redacted]. We had a tech stat ding by for almost 3 hours. Then Mr. [redacted] calls back then speaking with the owner saying he had another company fix the problem he stated he had. We have a system that documents calls in and calls going out. He said he didn't speak with anyone for over a week. It hadn't been a week since the first call, Not true! He sent the inspection report Monday. He spoke with a representative 3 separate occasions. Also stated the shingle were over hanging by 3 inches, not true. Our tech cleaned up after the company he called. They left shingle pieces all over the property. The largest piece was 1/4 of inch tops. We can't put straight Shingles on a crooked fascia boards??? Also, the inspector didn't see the built in drip edge either or the winter guard a foot wide around the entire perimeter of your home. Or the designated starter Shingles plus the 2 beads of sealer. But seen the shingle expose was a lil long. But he didn't see the fascia board that wasn't level. We are CERTIFIED ROOFERS, we do every job to meet local building codes & manufactures specification. He wasn't even aware of the code for roofing. So maybe you should get another inspection by a professional! Since another company has tampered with our work, our warranty is null & void. We go above & beyond to explain everything thoroughly! We want our customers to understand what they are getting, we give the best warranty available because we are certified. Plus we use top quality products & certified installers on every job! We take pride in our work. Because we know it's done the best possible way!

On 26 March 2016 we entered into a contract with Atlantic Coastal Enterprises specifically to install vinyl siding on the entire house(home size 1250 sq ft), construct new walls on rear enclosed porch and install 5 windows and 1 door, build a front porch, extend the garage by 7 feet, and install stone on the chimney and front of garage. The price was reasonable and both [redacted] and [redacted] started off very professional and sounded convincing that this would be a low stress venture. The job began with the rear porch. It got completed in April(took 3 days to complete). The vinyl siding began next on 12 May 2016. That was an ongoing project until the house was completed. On 23 June 2016, construction began on the front porch(took 3 days to complete). Next was the garage extension which began on 28 June 2016(took 2 days from the time they poured the concrete to completion). I could keep going on the detailed account of each phase of completion. The point that I wish to make clear is this. The individual subcontractors that Atlantic Coastal Enterprises hired were excellent. Atlantic Coastal Enterprise themselves was substandard. The most detailed portion of the job which was the porch, garage, and chimney(keep in mind, this also was the last items to be completed and all done by subcontrators)took only 38 days to complete. The entire job finally was completed on 16 August 2016(4 1/2 months to complete). Realistically, a whole house from the ground up could be built in less time than this. The excuses that I received for this job taking so long was rain(there were at least 11 days during the week that I saw no one on-site working), we changed our minds too much when choosing the colors, and finally, that most of the material was special order. Let's analyze this for a moment. The vinyl came in pretty quick so choice of color wasn't an issue there. Oh. The corners. That must be it. Not!!! We changed our minds on this only after [redacted] realized that he received the wrong size. Furthermore, I checked on everything. The vinyl and the stone was the only special order and the stone only became a special order after receiving stone that wasn't even close to what we had looked at originally. Even then, the stone that WE went and personally picked out at the stone store only took seven days to be delivered. Communication was usually an issue. The majority of the time when I would call or text either [redacted] or [redacted] for questions or complaints they would either take a few days to respond or not respond at all. There was also an incident where one of their employees was drinking on the job and [redacted] didn't seem very concerned. I was constantly having to remind their employees to clean up the trash at the end of the day. Overall, we had a very poor and unprofessional experience with Atlantic Coastal Enterprises. We would not recommend this company to hire for anyone.

We have not received lifetime warranty paperwork for Windows as promised. We also have not received warranty paperwork for vinyl siding. We spent $20,000 on new windows and vinyl siding for our home. We spent an additional $5,000 on our roof. After the job was complete at the end of August 2015, Mrs. [redacted] said we will get warranty paperwork in the mail in a few weeks. No paperwork came. We have sent numerous texts to Mrs. [redacted]. Her response in the fall was the company processes the paperwork in the order it was received. We received a text on Jan. 17 from Mrs. [redacted] that said we will get the paperwork soon. Site shows it is processed. We received the paperwork for the rook in February. To date, We have not received paperwork for window and vinyl. We sent two more texts, one on March 24 and one on April 8 inquiring about our warranty paperwork. We have not received any responses. We have copies of our contracts.Desired SettlementWe want our warranty paperwork,; the warranty they promised us and wrote into the contract signed by both of us. This was the main selling point and the reason we selected them. We want our $20,000 investment protected and for them to honor their contract and send us the paperwork.Business Response The job has been completed since before the holidays. I registered ALL the customees warranty's. It's out of my hands. They have to wait on the warranties to come like each customer does. I can't control when they send their warranties. I can't believe someone would really complain about the warranties. I've registered them. Now they wait. I have no control of when they send them. I can check the status, that's about it.Consumer Response We would appreciate a check on the status from the warranty company. An update from Mrs. [redacted] in regards to the status and expected date of warranties would be refreshing. Had Mrs. [redacted] responded to our calls/text and offered this to us, we would not have had to file a complaint. Communication is a great thing!Final Business Response The roof warranty is mailed to the customer. The Siding & window warranty stays on file. Then if it's a problem, it's on file. They have all that we give.More Info Received From Consumer(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)We have asked the company (ACE) is we have an issue and need to file a claim, who do we contact; them or the manufacturing company. They never responded to us. I sent another message asking for the vinyl and window company name and phone number and they never responded back. We are still having the same issue. A claim that we have a warranty but no proof that it exists, no idea of how to file a claim and no communication from the contractor (ACE) to us. Hurricane season is fast approaching. We need proof that the warranty exist, what is covered and what is not covered and information on how we file a claim if needed.

Remove and replace sheathing boards as needed about 12 to 15 sheets was the contract ---only--- 2 pieces 2ft by 4ft and 3 smaller pieces were actually replaced. Since replaced it has rained and you can see the gullies where the water is sitting on the roof. I also have photos in the attic where you can clearly see fresh water stains. So they did no full fill the contract and now my roof is more damaged than before they replaced it and suseptable to extenisive water damage in my home; ceilings. I feel they thought I was stupid and didn't know anything because I'm an elderly disabled woman.Desired SettlementRepair ONLY IF THERE IS A DIFFERENT FORMAN because I was willing to pay more if needed, to be done right but the forman cut corners to save their company a few dollars and now the whole roof has to be re-done to get to the wood that needs to be replaced. Business Response You are lying! We have pictures inside & out. Showing all rotten wood replaced. We estimated 10-15 sheets of plywood. After stripping the roof off we seen the water was running from main body of the roof under the makeshift roof that was attached. We don't charge extra for wood. So with way it doesn't matter. She is trying not to lather bill. She got money through the insurance company to pay for the majority of the repairs. But she spent the money that was supposed to go to us. She bragged how she could pay us from the insurance money she was getting from someone hitting her. We just want our money. This lady had no intentions in paying us! I could tell when she said she spent our money on the a bill that was to be shut off. We will have to take a lien on her property. I'm sure her house insurance will cancel when I call them in the morning to tell them she spent our money.Consumer Response I [redacted] want anyone to come and see my roof, wave to you as you come and leave. I am waiting for Atlantic Coastal Enterprises to serve me court papers. I will have a court date to show pictures of what was done and not done from the contract. P.S. I purposely cleared out my attic so anyone could see where the rotten wood was not replaced and is now leaking in areas. During the Labor Day weekend part of the roof flew away. 9/06/16 Final Business Response I have at least 30 pictures of her entire roof. She had 3 layers of shingles that had been there for 40 years. She didn't have the money to do the job her self. We got her covered by insurance. We also made her aware that because she had 3 layers with no ventilation that we wouldn't be able to make her roof look flat unless she resheathed the entire house. Because the wood was warped, doesn't mean it was rotten, just warped from the weight & non ventilation. She hasn't even paid the entire deposit. She spent the money and told us she would pay on Aug 30th. I walked around her entire house with her 2 days after the roof was completed, she was ecstatic after the job! She wanted us to put 4 new sets of shutters on and add that to her bill??? She was happy until I told her no more work until she took care of the balance at hand. We wasn't doing anymore work until she paid us the money she spent. We only got half of the deposit which was 2,500 The deposit was 4,500. She said she had to pay her cable bill or it would be shut off. But she had got a check for $5,000. Submitted the pictures to her insurance company, she received another $4,000. I talked with her early morning on Aug 30th, when I told her we wouldn't do anymore work until she took care of her balance, her attitude changed. The next day I received the Revdex.com complaint. This is her way of trying to take the blame off her self because she spent our money. If the roof was even in question, the insurance company wouldn't have released the second payment. I am giving her the benefit of the doubt to pay, before I call her insurance company. They will cancel her policy, once they know she spent the money on things other than her roof. Not only that, she claims her shingle blew off during a gust of winds 60-70 mph. The shingles are guaranteed for 130 standard without all the extra stuff we do. I have pictures showing it's not damaged.
