[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response If you wish, you may update it before sending it.] I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me I will accept the $refund based on principleI KNOW I gladly accepted the offer to have his permit validated as it was offered and my work schedule makes such errands a big inconvenience I would've loved for my son to take his road test on his 17th birthday, however due to the fact that a) I/he couldn't afford the driving lessons prior to February and b) I wasn't aware of the "new laws" requiring months of driving on a permit before testing, it sort of threw a wrench in the works I regret that it had to come down filing a complaint to get some sort of resolutionIf I had any idea that this would become such a big fiasco I would have gone with the other driving school that came with high recommendations and everything was taken care of from permit to validation to accompanying the student to the driving testfor the same feeUnfortunately they were booked solid for three months

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
When I had gone to pay for my son to take his driving course I was advised that for an additional $fee the school would obtain my sons permit (he had already taken the written test in school) and have it validated, then driving test would be scheduled. I gladly accepted and paid the additional $and explained that since I worked full time during the days
(8am-4:or later) and Saturday (8am-noonsometimes later) this would be a great help. It begs to ask why I would pay an additional $if I didn't expect these services or why I would decline the offer for a minimal charge if it would mean not losing time at work to do it myselfI am a single mother and I can't afford to lose any time at work
When the instructor dropped off an orange envelope with my son on the final day of instruction I was told someone would be in touch with me with the date of the "Road Test"When my son bought his car we went to NJMVC to register it, I noticed they had miss-spelt his name on the permit so I had them correct that as wellWhen I inquired about the date of his "Road Test" I was advised he was not scheduled. If this business owner strives for excellence, she missed the mark by not even checking his paperwork for inaccuracies and now that she's being "called out" her statement is inaccurate to her benefit
The other day she had left a message on my answering machine professing she had no fault in the errorI surely didn't, I trusted her to do the job she was paid to doAnd to ask me what I expected from herhow about taking responsibility, owning the error and giving a refundI do not appreciate the condescending tone and self-righteous attitude she gives offI paid for her services, not to be treated like a child or buffoon! (I will communicate with her thru the Revdex.com but refuse to speak with her directly)
My son was trying to get his license a.s.a.pso that he could help drive his father to chemotherapy and for radiation treatments(His father has since passed away) As embarrassing as it is, I now need my sons help in earning an income to keep us afloat financiallyIt was be a stretch to wait until August (when his original test would have been) but now he has to wait until November; not due to my errorit was either her error or the error of one of her employees

Dear Ms ***,
The $you paid was to PURCHASE a permit from MVC. It was not for any additional services
When MVC issued the permit with the misspelling, we pointed it out to them, and were advised that it could be changed when he passed his road test and was getting his licenseI personally explained this to Timothy over the phone when I was scheduling his lessonsThis was also pointed out to him by our instructor. They are human and made a typing error - we spotted it. We check ALL the permits that MVC issue to us.
Your son could have done his road test on his 17th birthday in May had you booked his lessons by November 2013. You waited until February 2014 to book his lessons with us. He needs months practice driving and be years old before he can do his road test
We are sorry for the misunderstanding regarding this matter. We would be more than happy to refund the $you paid us to buy your son's permit, as you did seem to believe that it was for additional services. I am sorry that you found me condescending and self righteous, this was never my intention

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I will accept the $10.00 refund based on principle. I KNOW I gladly accepted the offer to have his permit validated as it was offered and my work schedule makes such errands a big inconvenience.
I would've loved for my son to take his road test on his 17th birthday, however due to the fact that a) I/he couldn't afford the driving lessons  prior to February and b) I wasn't aware of the "new laws" requiring 6 months of driving on a permit before testing, it sort of threw a wrench in the works.
I regret that it had to come down filing a complaint to get some sort of resolution. If I had any idea that this would become such a big fiasco I would have gone with the other driving school that came with high recommendations and everything was taken care of from permit to validation to accompanying the student to the driving test.. for the same fee. Unfortunately they were booked solid for three months.

l, [redacted], am the owner of Atlantic Driving School, and I would like to respond to the complaint from [redacted].
Atlantic Driving School is in no way at fault, we did exactly what we were paid and contracted to do. We went above and beyond this in our attempt to assist Ms [redacted] and secure an earlier road test appointment date for her son. But to no avail. Their rules are rigid.
As a free courtesy service, we go on Fridays to validate the completed permits. MVC will book the road test appointment for 6 months from the date of validation. The [redacted]'s declined this service, as they did NOT want to wait until our next scheduled validation day. They were going to validated earlier themselves. It appears that they neglected to do this. When the [redacted]'s realized the permit was not validated, they went to MVC. Motor Vehicles realized they had made a typing error on the original permit issued in February. They made the original permit null and void, and issued a new permit. The road test was booked for 6 months from the day the second permit was issued.
As a driving school, we strive for excellence. We have a reputation for being professional, courteous and kind. We empathize with [redacted], but do not accept any responsibility this problem.
Dealing with Motor Vehicles can be complicated, we have a complete and full understanding of the rules and regulations surrounding the GDL permits. Should Ms [redacted] or anyone reading this response wish to contact us, we would be more than happy to explain this further.
