Atlantic Eastern Painting

Review: In November 2012, I contracted with [redacted] of Atlantic Eastern Painting, LLC to perform a shower repair and retiling job. The work was completed in January 2014, and a final payment of $1063.00 was made on January 22, 2014. Mr. [redacted] called me on January 28 to inform me he had not received the final payment. On January 29, I mailed a second check for payment of $1063.00, after Mr [redacted] agreed to destroy the check should the original payment arrive, so that I would not have to pay a check cancellation fee. On January 29, Mr. [redacted] cashed the first check, then on February 11 he cashed the second check. The signature endorsing both checks was identical. Upon discovering that both checks had been cashed, I called Mr [redacted] on Feb 14. He told me he was out of town, but assured me he would refund the second check, cashed in error, immediately when he returned on Monday. I have not yet received the refund. I called Mr. [redacted] on Feb. 27, March 3 and March 12. Each time he failed to answer the phone, but I left a message regarding my refund.Desired Settlement: I would like immediate refund of the $1063.00.
