Atlantic Finance & Pawn Reviews (1)

Review: I bought a 2004 GMC Yukon from a dealership and it has been financed through Atlantic finance. My vehicle was recently reposed for only being 30 days (1 payment) behind. tried several times to set up payment arrangements with my acct mgr[redacted] with no outcome. I have been paying extra on my payments every other week not by much but extra. I spoke with my acct mgr on 8/10/2013 and paid $200.00. My regular payment is $185.60 and is due every other week which monthly it comes to be $371.20 and I have been paying $380.00 every month. After I paid the $200.00 on 8/10/2013 they reposed my vehicle on 8/11/2013. I have just recently had a baby and things have been tight and I notified my acct mgr of this and he still was un willing to work with me. I called to see what I had t do to get my vehicle back and was never able to speak directly to my acct mgr after two days of calling and asking for him. Another person helped me and said if you pay $903.00 IN CASH you will be able to get the vehicle back. I got the cash and drove all the way to Delmar DE to pay the money so I could pick up my vehicle. Once I got there my acct mgr was actually there and said I don't even know if you can get the vehicle back. When I asked why was that he said hold on a minute I need to speak to my supervisor. When he returned he told me in order to get my vehicle back that I would have to pay the full amount of $5452.29 in order to get it back because this was the second time it had been reposed. The first time it was reposed I was paying the payment up to date the very day it was taken after I spoke with my acct mgr who said I had till 6pm that day to pay it. It was taken by 10am,I never had a chance to get to the bank to deposit my paycheck in order to make the payment. I asked my acct mgr why I was told if I paid the $903.00 in CASH that I could get it back and he told me I was given wrong information, that I hadn't talked to him. When I told him why he told me that he handles 1300 accts that it happens.Desired Settlement: I would like my vehicle back by paying the past due amount since my account manager has just lied to me or avoided me all together.

I am responding to a complaint filed 8/30/13 by [redacted] against our company. There has been key information left out concerning her aligations against our company. First I would like to address [redacted] first issue about the vehicle being repossessed for being 30 days late and/or only one payment. Her account is set up for bi-weekly payments, and when the vehicle was taken on 8/11/13 she had a total past due amount of $903. She was 5 total payments behind due to the fact she failed to make any payment in July, and we did receive a partial payment of $200 on 8/10/13. That still left a siginifcant past due balance on the account. I would like to include her payment history to show where these payments where collected. She did attempt to pay "extra" on payments made earlier in the year by paying $190 bi-wkly instead of her normal $185.60 payment. Unfortunately this was not making a big dent in her past due amount that continued to reflect on her account. The next big piece of information that failed to be mentioned is that this is her second offense at being repossessed. We did let her redeem her vehicle the fisrt time by paying the past due amount, but we also made it very clear from here on out payments must be made on time. She continued on time for a good period of time, however, she then fell behind again. After skipping an entire month with no payments, we felt that it our in our best interest to repossess the vehicle. Our collector had many attempts to contact [redacted] and was never able to reach her. This is reflected in our cllector notes, it is notated every time a collector makes an attempt to reach a customer. We feel at this time it would not be in our best interest to relese the vehicle back into the customers possession, unless she is able to pay the loan in full. I can include any extra information that is needed, plesae feel free to contact me at anytime regarding this situation.
