Atlantic Heating & Air Conditioning

Review: Mr. [redacted] and Atlantic Heating and Air Conditioning was hired to perform the following to my home which was effected by Hurricane Sandy. He was to replace a one zone heating, air conditioner and hot water heater as well as to replace the piping involved in this job. When [redacted] completed his job, we called the town for an inspection of his work. When the inspector arrived, the work he had done had failed for many reasons. The town official was equally upset because [redacted] never asked for the proper permits to do this job. The town official gave me a list of items which needed to be repaired in order to receive a passing certificate for the job performed and advised me to give it to [redacted]. I faxed this information to him the following day. He telephoned me to advise that he would call the town inspector because he was confused about the list which he had to perform. He called me back the next day to tell me that it would take a while for him to repair the job he performed. To date, three weeks later, he has failed to call or perform the necessary repairs on the terrible job he did.Desired Settlement: I would like [redacted] to complete the job to the town's satisfaction so that we may obtain a passing certification for this work. We have been living out of our home since the storm occurred and we would like to eventually get back into our home. We cannot do that until this job is complete and we may move onto other things. If he cannot complete the job to the town's satisfaction for whatever reason, I would like a refund of the $11,280.00 he was paid for this job. As a side note, [redacted] telephoned my fiancée on or about April 25th and advised that a different customer had bounced a $20,000.00 check and was begging my fiancée to give him $3,000.00 in cash as an advance for this job. My fiancée reluctantly agreed, stating we could only give him a check as we needed to keep a trail of money paid to him.
