Atlantic Moving Service Florida Reviews (%countItem)

Quoted $587 for 5 hours of moving costs. Once the truck was filled, they demanded additional $800 for services I did not approve.
First of all, after 3 confirmation phone calls that the job started at 8 am, the movers did not show until 11:30 a.m. Secondly, they demanded the $587 quoted price be paid to them in CASH before they'd even begin working. While I ran to the ATM to get the money, they re-taped all of my boxes and wrapped my couch and beds and proceeded to charge me for it. Even though they had not sought out authorization to do so. They tacked on an additional $275 because my couch was considered by them to be a "bulky item." The couch is a regular sized couch which is probably smaller than most couches. They were also aware that I had a couch when they quoted me my estimate. So, that "bulky" item fee should have been tacked on up front, if it's a regular thing to consider a normal couch "bulky." When he had me sign the contract, he covered part of it by folding it in half. I proceeded to give them the additional $800 they were now charging me for tape and bubble wrap, (which I had not approved). They insisted I pay that in CASH or they would leave the premises with all of my belongings in their truck! I paid them the money because I was afraid of them driving off. Complete and total threats and extortion. Once we left, they went the wrong way. The truck then took off with my money and my things. If I hadn't caught up to it and followed it, I'm not sure they would have ever delivered. The man I dealt with was called ***. Although, I am not sure that is his real name, to be honest. He threw a temper tantrum in my house, in front of my 6 year old and elderly parents, because we merely asked him why the additional charges weren't discussed and disclosed PRIOR to them taking it upon themselves to use all of the extra packing material. This day was one of the worst days of my life. And this company not only bait and switched on me by estimating $587, but charging me $1387 in the end; but they threatened me and got the money by pure extortion. This company needs to be investigated and shut down.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking that this company refund me for use of packing material that was put on my boxes and furniture PRIOR to any approval (the tape and the mattress covers) AND a refund for the bulky item fee, since they were aware of the couch when they quoted me the estimate. I also want a refund for the steps charge (for every seven steps they charged $75), since THAT should have been part of the estimate, considering they were made fully aware that the move was to be delivered to a second floor. I am, in total, requesting $800 back. They STOLE this money from me under complete duress and extortion. The things they charged me for were either NOT APPROVED services AND items they were well aware of when they gave me my estimate (of which I have a copy).

Aura, please contact me about Atlantic "moving" Co. I would like to discuss what happened to you and your move. [email protected]

Atlantic movers/Primetime Movers llc are holding my belongings ransom
They are under this business name and "Primetime Movers LLC"
They are holding all of my belongings ransom and trying to extort $5784 on a move I paid $765 for.
This company packed my belongings to move me to Orlando and to place my stuff in a store room. I paid them $715 plus $50 tip for their lunch in cash. They never arrived and are now holding my belongings ransom for $5784 cash, their reason? the cost of bubble wrap and stairs which I my home is single floor.

They have been calling me offering discounts to $7000, 4000 and 3000 and threatening to charge me storage fees and delivery fees as well as threatening to sell my stuff in 2 weeks. They say that I signed for the $5784, I didn't they took the estimate page I signed for $715 to begin the move and wrote in the numbers after speaking with the cops. Since the police have been called, they now say that they wont release my possessions.
They rented their own storage room at the same place as me and tried to put my belongings there. When the clerk told them that we are on the way with the police to sort it out they left.

Sidenote:
Your mover must give you possession of your shipment if you pay 110 percent of a non-binding estimate or 100 percent of a binding estimate, plus 15 percent of the impracticable operations charges (if applicable). If your mover does not relinquish possession, the mover is holding your shipment hostage in violation of Federal law.

Desired Outcome

I want them to deliver my goods to the storage room specified in the agreement that I already paid them for.

Refund not provided, broken furniture, held at gun point for cash, stole 300$
On Friday 13th, 2018 my fiance and I scheduled a move from *** to *** We were quoted for 495$. The movers said they would not move our things until the repacked everything. Once all of our belongings were in the truck and we were half way to *** they called and said our total would be 3,700$ and we were required to pay in full before unloading the truck in cash or money order. We did not use the full time we were charged for. We gave the mover 4,000$ cash and asked for our change and he responded with no and said that he was carrying a gun. We were never reimbursed for the time we did not use and the 300$ that was stolen. I have been trying to get in contact with the company for 2 weeks for a refund but have not received any sort of response via email and or phone call.

Desired Outcome

I want to be refunded for the time we did not use and the 300$ that was stolen. As well as a phone call apology. I never want anyone to go through what me and my fiance have gone through. I am a student working full time and 4,000$ is ridiculous and to be stolen from.

Courtney G! I would love to talk with you about your experience with Atlantic. Please contact me at: [email protected]. We used this company and need to discuss your situation.

SCAM alert! we were given an estimate of $450.00 once our items were loaded the company called and demanded $1960.00 to unload and return our items!
on X-XX-XX my elderly parents hired this company to move some larger items to their new residence 2.5 miles from their existing place. Prior to hiring them they gave the company a list of the locations moving to and from and list and description of the items to be moved. we were provided with a written "estimate" from "***" a sales rep. for $450.00 VIA email. they were scheduled to be at our location between 8 and 10 am. they did not arrive until 2:20 pm. when they did arrive the "foreman ED" who also later refused to provide his last name, put a form in front of us saying just fill out the shipping information and sign the bottom and we will get started. and took a $150.00 deposit payment. there were 2 other men that started wrapping shrink wrap and taping up items to prepare the load. we were not asked if we wanted this to be done. everything was loaded into the truck. the crew said they were going to take a lunch break before they go to the new house and stated that he would need the balance of the money before they left, reluctantly my senior citizen mother gave them $300.00 in cash. approximately 3 minutes later we received a call from them demanding an additional $1950.00 dollars or they would not return stating a bunch of hidden bogus charges that were added that were not on the form at the time my mother was told she had to sign. IE: packing tape, shrink wrap, bulky items, stair charges (we had 3 stairs), long carry charges (distance was 30' to the door form the truck)mattress protectors, we were charged for 17 "plastic bag" mattress proctors @ $25 each only 2 were actually used. none of these charges were even discussed or given up front before they started. We had no choice but to pay the ransom to get their furniture returned to them. they also would only take Cash or money orders for payment, at the time it was 4:30 and all the banks were closed but the "forman" conveniently knew that the local PUBLIX grocery store would provide money orders at $500 increments using debit cards and we could go there to get the money. this is obviously not the 1st time they pulled this SCAM. he told us to call the company if we had any problems he was just doing his job, the company was no help when we called. we tried to reach out to the original person "***" that quoted the job an was told he no longer worked there. there was also damage done to a few pieces and we tried to make a claim and have been unable to reach anyone for it. I am writing this for my parents but I was there the entire time and witnessed this. this company needs to be stopped before they rip off other people, especially our elderly!

Desired Outcome

refund all charges of $1966.00 that were above the provided written estimate we received by the company

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)i have read the bushiness response, if they in fact wish to stand up and make this situation "right" we are willing to come to the table. the "company" rep ***, did call my parents back after several messages were left and asked "how the move went". obviously he heard our displeasure, and was told about the damage once again he differed to the "contract" and said we have to contact their claims company. there is no information on the contract on how to contact them, he gave us a website to go to. we have contacted them and still have not heard a response. we told him again about the overcharges for packing materials, and said "oh well we will have to do an internal audit" we have still had no further communication back from them. AGAIN I state that the "contract" signed by my parents was blank and they were only expecting to pay $340.00 per the estimate sent to them previously. further more per their estimate it states "unless" additional services are requested etc.etc. WE DID NOT request additional services or packing materials they did that on their own, in addition they charged us for 17 plastic mattress covers at $25 each when we only had 2 (there were only 22 items moved total) nor were we told there was additional charges for stairs and bulky items and long travel, we were charged 4 times for stair charges and 4 charges for long carry charges. to add the "driver / formen" never signed the "contract" nor did he ever get out the truck except to collect money. when I tried to get a closer look at the contract he kept pulling it away. contracts need to be signed by both parties to be a binding agreement.what should have happened is, if this is the Companies Standard way of charging, the driver / forman should have UP FRONT filled out all the charges BEFORE anything is touched, that way there is no surprise at the end. what are the results of of the "internal audit"?? and when can we expect to see a refund of the bogus charges?? I have attached the supporting documents and pictures of the damage

Please contact me as I would like to discuss Atlantic and their "business" practices. [email protected]

the movers "kidnap" the truck and said if we didn't pay them $890 in cash before downloading our things, they wouldn't open the truck
We got ripped off by Atlantic Moving Services on March 31st 2018. I originally received an estimate of $330 for 3 hours 2 guys and the truck, I made a deposit of $125. I lived in Downtown Miami, the building charges the elevator use by the hour and during Saturday they strictly allow moving from 8am to 12pm, I paid $175 for elevator use to the building (***, the moving coordinator kept telling me that I was lying about this), I don't appreciate being called a liar specially when I'm telling the truth. I called 2 times during the previous week to confirm that the movers will be at the building at 8am, and I was assured by *** they will. Saturday came and by 8:30am nobody had shown up, so I called the company, *** picked up the phone, and told me that he didn't know where the guys were but that they should be on their way, at 9am I called again, *** said the same thing but he added that "he can't control how the moving guys feel about working on a Saturday morning" and that I was lying about the elevator charges. Finally the guys showed up at 10ish am, they told me that nobody gave them the instruction of being there at 8am. The movers had less than 2 hours to download my things, incredibly they did it. When they arrived to the new house, the guy told me that I needed to pay $890 in cash or if not they wouldn't open the truck, basically they "kidnapped" the truck. I asked about the extra charges, he said 2 extra hours, which I agree, but then he said "$75 for an elevator (I told ***, who gave me the estimate from the beginning that I lived in a 30th floor and he didn't include this charge in the estimate), $150 for walking more than 50ft, $250 for having bulky items (I've moved 5 times in the last 5 years and I was never charged for having bulky items), on the other hand it's a HHG move what are you expecting?, $40 for tape! All my boxes were closed, I didn't need tape, I had extra tape but they didn't asked for it!! This is not the way to do business, also why cash? And why everything was said after the fact? I called *** when the guys asked for the cash and he said "the guys know what they're doing pay them and we can talk on Monday so I can get you a rebate", obviously I've been calling but I always get the voicemail, and I spoke twice to *** he said he'll call me back but he hasn't.

Desired Outcome

I want a refund of $515, here's the breakdown: $75 for use of elevator, $40 for tape, $150 for long distance and $250 for bulky items. The elevator charge appears on the invoice as "elevator or stair carry" it's a move you have to carry the things somehow. I didn't asked or needed the tape, the long distance charge it's ridiculous, the distance was from the apartment to the elevator and from the elevator to the truck, which was parked inside the building and close to the elevator, and finally, the bulky items, I don't have bulky items, it's just regular furniture.

Please contact me about Atlantic and how they operate. I am trying to contact and discuss your moving experience. Thank you. [email protected]

Atlantic Moving Services contacted us with a very attractive quote amount, we were extorted for 4 times more then what was quoted by threatening us.
OMG...SCAMMED..SCAMMED....SCAMMED... I was quoted $680 for my move , I checked multiple times if this quote was accurate and they said yes, however after all my furniture was already loaded in the truck enroute to new address I was sent a text that my cost was a whopping $2655 , my goodness you can imagine my surprise and I was not prepared for that amount. I asked what the heck, so I was charged for boxes, tape wrap I immediately realized I was SCAMMED!!!! Then I was double charged in my credit card plus was forced to pay with ONLY moneyorders or they were confiscating my furniture...Be very careful with these guys The Florida State attorneys office has been notified and an investigation has begun because of similiar complaints...

Desired Outcome

For them too honor the quoted amount given too us in the contract of $680 and too refund the excess amount that was extorted by threatening too keep our furniture loaded in their truck if we did not pay the exaggerated amount of $2655...in money order only

Holding furniture hostage for cash payment then billing credit card after receiving cash
I hired Atlantic moving company to move furniture on 2/13/18. I authorized a $115 charge on my credit card as downpayment and signed the paperwork on the day of the move. I was informed I would be charge $75 for every additional hours after 4 hrs. The move take under the allotted time and the movers did not go over. however, they hod the furniture hostage and refused to release it and stated they need $2200 more. the police were called and manage to broker a deal for $1000 cash as they said there was nothing they could do because it was a civil matter. they were paid $1000 case and released our furniture. They then billed my credit card an additional $700 using the paperwork and signature I used to authorize the $115 initial charge. I now have to be going through a fight with them and my credit card company for a charge I did not authorize and one they were already paid for in cash. The contact person was

I was given an estimate, I paid in full once the moving truck was loaded. Then are holding hostage my belongings asking for more money.
I was given an estime of $950 for moving from Palm Bay to se ranches, both cities within Florida. The day of the move they were late, asked for a deposit which I was aware of and asked that I pay the rest once everything was loaded. I signed a bill of lading which did not have any additional costs at the time of signing. Once the truck was loaded, I paid the remaining amount from the original estimate. An hour later, they call to let me know I have a remaining balance of $4193.50 and they will not meet me at the delivery destination until I show proof of payment. They are holding my belongings hostage at this point and I'm being forced to get a money order, meet at their office the next day and then they will meet at the delivery destination.

Desired Outcome

At this point, after I pay them the money they are claiming, I seek to get my belongings in proper order and get a refund on these additional charges they claimed after the fact. Hopefully the business can't get barred from doing any more business and license revoked.

Was quoted a certain price for move then they left with our things and called with a 5,000 dollar increase for in state move
Got a quote of $1060 they were supposed to come on saturday 01/24/18 but called and said if they can come on friday 01/23/18 instead since they were in area. We agreed. They were supposed to be there here at 8am they got there around 10 am. They left around 330pm or so, about 30 mins after they left they had called and said that now the new price is going to be $6152. That if we do not pay then they will keep our things and then auction them off. They are a scam artist and this is not the first complaint about them. I also called the police and have a call # on record. There is also other complaints in regards to the same thing. They charge by the hour. There is no way it was 6100 dollars. At 1:06 pm Saturday 02/24/18 The guy who calls himself "Ed" or "***" said that we only had up until 2pm paid for and they would have to charge us more than what was already paid. They knew what they were doing to us. My father and I hustled and pretty did the rest of the move of the things ourselves since they decided to take there time. The move was in the same state. I have moved from states across states for way less money. They are a SCAM.

Desired Outcome

If you do the correct calculations for the amount being charged by the hour then the total price would have come to $1520 NOT $6152.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Attached are copies of the Estimate that clearly states right on the front page " Binding and Guaranteed Estimate" The receipt clearing shows that $6162.00 was taken out of bank on 02/24/2018 to give to the moving company since there was a text message that was sent from them that states the amount they wanted was $6152. Also I have attached a picture of the cashiers check in the amount of $3652 and then cash paid of $2500. Also pictures of broken items as well. The estimate as you see shows a total of $1060 with a balance of $910 since $150 was already paid at pick up. The estimate letter states $115 per hour, we did not take 53.50 hours to move only 1.5 hours away in the same state to equal it to be $6152. As stated in the mover's response, "The company guarantees to compensate the customer in accordance to their coverage and will ensure a fair resolution to their issues" If providing documents, well here is all of your proof. We would like to have a reimbursement in at least an amount of that was overpaid by us to their company. I have filed an intend to sue as well. They also tried to charge us an over night fee which was their problem since they had called and asked if they can pick up on Friday 02/23/2018 instead of 02/24/2018 (original date) since they were in the area and it was convenient for them. Any other questions or concerns please feel free to call or email me as my information you already have. I have pictures of them personally, a license plate and the DOT number of the truck, and videos of their language that we would like to get translated. Thank you for your concern, looking forward to hearing an excellent response back.

Deception. Extortion. Over Charge. BAD SERVICE
When I booked my move through Dante, I was told that the 5 hour rate he quoted me started at the time the movers arrived at my door. I was told any materials on my inventory would be prepared by the movers to be moved and was included in your rate as, "we are a five star company and that is how we guarantee service." So I paid the deposit. Full quote for $575. On Tuesday February 13, I forwarded my contract to another mover to compare rates. That mover brought my attention to the packing list at the end, which I had already talked to Dante about, but suggested I make sure that what you were quoting me was real. I immediately called and spoke to *** and asked if those were charges that I needed to be aware of. *** repeated what Dante quoted me, stated that what was on the inventory would be packed and the additional charges would only be charged if I needed them and asked. *** said there was no reason why the move should take longer than 5 hours, as he said Dante did a great quote, and that he saw no reason I would be charged beyond that. I proceeded with the move. On February 22, the movers called my phone at 9:46am to tell me they had arrived outside (Grand Regency Point). When I walked out, they were in front of the wrong building, so I directed them to the right place. Once in*** ( the foreman) commenced with the CC authorization as well as the Bill of Lading contract, WHICH HAD NO PRICE ATTACHED WHEN HE ASKED ME TO SIGN IT. He asked if I had gone over the contract THAT WAS EMAILED TO ME, I said I had and that was it. He explained insurance and then the guys started working to prep my furniture. I was told that loose items would have to be boxed or could not go on the truck. I said, not to worry about those as those could go in the the cars of family members that I had there to help. I as given, and will agree to the charge of 6 BOXES to help with this, but everything else was prepared. They even had less items to pack on the truck as by then I had sold the sofa that I said would be going on the inventory, loaded my dad's, boyfriend's, sister;s, and my car with the other items.
The movers moved EXTREMELY slow, even at the encouragement of my family who them began to help move stuff outside in the hopes to speed up the process.*** said "the prep takes so long because we want to do it right and ensure your stuff arrives safely, the load will go faster". It didn't. We were ready to leave the old apt at exactly 1:00pm. I pulled off first and arrived
at the new apt at 1:35pm. The truck should have been right behind me. I called at 1:56. No answer. Called again at 2:08, and was told they stopped for a sandwich. I asked them to make sure I was not charged. 2:27 I called again and they said they were 15 min away. at 2:45 I received a call telling me I would need to be prepared to pay $3347 dollars to receive my things- WAY OUT OF THE AGREED UPON PRICE. Back and forth phone calls proceeded at 3:03, 3:04, 3:07, 3:08, 3:09 (most of which refused answer). The movers finally showed up to the apt at 3:36pm demanding I make payment or they would take my things and auction them off. I put in calls to ***, who now denied that he had any conversation with me on February 13. Calls to Dante confirmed that I had indeed confirmed my quote and the explanations above and he assured me he would contact the right people to see what happened as that price did not seem right to him either. When I called him back, he said the movers were reporting that I had them pack extra things, which is not true. I explained again what happened, and he said he had NO REASON TO BELIEVE I WAS LYING, and that he would contact ***'s boss. I have not heard back as of yet.
Expenses. WERE WRITTEN IN AFTER I SIGNED THE BILL IN EXCESS OF $3000. Extra labor, packing materials I did not request, etc.
When my mother went to get a cashiers check for them in the amount of 3000 dollars,*** became belligerent, saying he would only accept cash or a money order.

Desired Outcome

Refund of $3000. I have also filed a complaint with the attorney general.

BEWARE!!!!! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!! They gave us a $415 quote- said the job could easily be done in three hours or less- and promised to take credit cards. On the day of the move hijacked all the items on the truck and threatened to keep them unless we produced $1200 In cash immediately. While we were running around trying to come up with cash, they decided to charge additional fees. Calls to speak to them about the issue were responded to with threat that they would have their lawyer call since we were "harassing" and "slandering" them. Upon unpacking we could see that a number of pieces of furniture had been broken as well. Stay away from this company at all costs. They are not legit and the owner *** and his sidekick *** should be thrown in jail for outright robbery.

Please contact me about this company at [email protected]

TERRIBLE company to work with. *** the owner/Manager is beyond unprofessional. He would not provide us with the drivers name or number. Transit time from Doral to Kendall is 25 mins. It has been an hour and a half and still no drivers. And all this after they already picked up our furniture. Very Unprofessional. I will not pay by the hour for this kind of service. Charges will be disputed. I would not recommend them unless you have money to blow.. I guess Horrible job And after all of this the company would not unload our furniture until we paid $1200 in cash! From $415 to $1200! No wonder they are all over rip off report Scammers and thief's and *** is the main man behind it all

Please contact me about this moving company at [email protected] as soon as you can. Thank you

This company misrepresented themselves as a professional moving company. They overcharged me and damaged some of my items.
Around January 11, 2018 I spoke with *** about using his company to move me. After discussing what items I had, what my concerns were, the fact that I was on the second floor and the estimate of $405 I agreed to use his company. We made the appointment to move on 2/16/18 from 8-10 am, job #ASXXXXXXX. Moving day arrives and I am waiting. At 9:26 Paul calls and informs me they are running a little late but are still within the 8-10 time window. At 12:05 Paul calls again saying they are about 1/2 hour away.At 1:40 Paul calls again. The movers had arrived at about 1:30 and must have called Paul to tell him unhappy I was about them being so late. At this time Paul mentions about getting me a credit on the bill. To this day nothing. The movers start putting my stuff in the truck wrapping some items in bubble wrap and shrink wrap of which were an extra cost. The padded blankets, which were free of charge were not used at all. According to the contract they should have asked me which I preferred and whether or not I wanted certain pieces disassembled. We get to my new place and the driver informs me that an additional $490 is dur for them to unpack the truck. Mind you, this is at 4:00 on Thursday night and most banks are closed and Amscot was not an option for me.The driver then mentions about the boss giving me a credit and that I would hear from him in a few days. After getting the cash I give it to the driver, the movers unpack my stuff and then proceed to leave. I asked them about unwrapping my stuff, placing the bedroom set where it was to go and to reassemble my dining room table. He informed that if I wanted to pay OT they would finish. I was so stressed and aggravated at this point I told them to go. I am recently retired, am 64 years old, living on a fixed income and could not believe how these guys had just treated me. Some of my furniture was badly scratched and my antique dresser was also scratched and part of the leg was broken off. I emailed them on 2/21/18 at 10:05 am and still have not heard anything.

Desired Outcome

In the spirit of good customer service I feel I should not be charged the OT they say they did because of them being 3 1/2 hours late and reduce what they charged me for using stairs. The bill says $225 which would be for 21 stairs at $75/every 7 stairs. I only had 14 stairs at my old apartment.

Customer Response • May 03, 2018

I already sent this moving business a response back in February and got no response even though they told me they would contact me regarding some kind of refund. Yeah right. My daughter tried calling numerous times, left messages and got no response either. So I can safely assume that these have NO intention of working with me on this. I have no other documentation to send them and besides they should have it all.

I unfortunately contracted this company for my moving. Which I regret, they gave me an estimate of 845 and now want me to pay 3800 dlls.
I contracted over the phone this company. Movers arrived three hrs late. Were supposed to be three workers but got one that most of the time was in the bathroom.
They repacked all of my stuff I already packed.
Now they are charging me for 14 hrs of labor of three workers plus bulky stuff plus I lot of things I do not agree on.

Please save you a headache and do not ever use this guys. I called police and still they are arguing with them. Worse experience ever.

Desired Outcome

This company is a scam and should not be allow to be in business

The company gave me a quote of 575.00 upon arriving to my new destination I was informed that my balance was 3476.00 . Online they have scammed others
Issue date 2/1/18 the company was contacted on January 2. The reference no given *** Representative # ***. Ext *** Also this is another number I believe he uses. ***. The day of I was called by the so call Foreman from ***. I paid 3000 in money orders in which I was told to not sign the purchaser line on the money order. 476.00 was given in cash. Also, 250.00 was paid via debit card and in which that was taken off my card early January. On February 2nd I contacted my bank for a reversal due to the deposit not being added to this 3476.00 . The charges do not make sense. They lied about the hours of labor, they were suppose to arrive between 8-10 they arrived at 3pm. Two out of three guys were working. They took several breaks. They have on the receipt that they used materials that they did nit. Also they did not even move all of the items because a UHAUl was rented to move some of the items because they took so long to arrive. They were unprofessional I had to call the police several times. All of my items after they finally unloaded them were dropped in the middle of my living room. None of my items were reassembled as promised. Online the night before pick up I discovered within the last week or two that had scammed several customers the same way. They give you a low quote and than when you arrive to the new location they give you a high balance. They stated that if I did not give the 3476.00 they would take my belonging and they would be held in storage at 800.00 per night and on the eight day my belongings would be auctioned off.

Desired Outcome

I want the difference of my money back. It was not an 8 hour labor as they lied about. Also they stated one price and than all of a sudden I owed 3476.00 The receipt is not accurate and they lied about what materials were used to come up with their prices. Also when asked by the cops why it was so high they told several different stories. This is a very dishonest company and unprofessional. They have traffic violations and no cdl.

We were billed 4 times the quoted move price on contract. The movers disappeared in the middle of the move and held our belongings hostage.
I was contacted by ***, a sales rep for Atlantic Moving Services on 1/24/18. He gave us a quote on /the furniture (which didn't all get moved), hours spent moving, travel time/gas (quoted $100, charged $570 for 3 hours travel time & $100 in fuel), 2 men at $95 an hr. He even reassured us that we could fit anything on the truck that would fit at no addition cost. The contract we signed was for a $480 move and we put down a $150 deposit. The movers showed up on 1/28/18, worked slow, broke the base of our kitchen table within the first 10 minutes (we left that behind), marred and scratched many other pieces of furniture, broke the wheel on an office chair in half, took a chunk out of our wall, and many other things. My husband moved 30% of the house himself to move things along faster. We left for the new house and the movers never showed up so I called to make sure they were not lost. They informed me that we had to meet them with $1760 in cash (on a Sunday) or they would not deliver our belongings! My husband called the company to speak with a manager who confirmed that we would not recieve our things if we did not pay the amount. I went to the police station and because we signed a contract for $480 at $95 an hr, it was a civil matter and they could not get involved. In over 20+ years at the station they had only seen this happen one other time and told me who to contact and inform of this injustice. My husband had to meet the men with a money order for $1760 to receive our belongings. They overcharged for travel time. *** told us they had another move in our area and the total travel & gas would be $100. They charged an extra $750 for "bulky" items. Again, we did not even move our entire house and were moving less than 20 minutes away. My husband had them bring in 8 pieces of furniture to the new house and they left the rest in the garage as not to incur further charges. The men were rude, disrespectful, and the company con artists. We want to insure that this does not happen to anyone else. We cannot even fathom how this could be legal. The men were all immigrants from Russia/Ukraine as well. We were assured by *** that he had the best crew for us, that they would take good care of us, that these items could be moved in 4 hours. Wow, we were scammed!

Desired Outcome

We would like to get our money back for the move aside from hours worked and the travel time/fuel listed on original contract. We were even charged for the 2 hours that they sat in a parking lot with our belongings while tring to come to an agreement. This is just wrong. I have all paperwork. I have pictures of all damage. We are filing a seperate claim for the damages but this is just bad business. These people should be held accountable and shut down, fined, warned, or something of that nature. I hope that no one else falls victim of this company. I am very sick and my husband and I are paying medical costs out of pocket just to keep me going day to day. This fiasco has cut out much of my medical treatment for 2 months which leaves me a sick mom of two little boys. I really hope justice prevails here. I pray no one esle has to endure the stress and fear of having their belongings held hostage with no warning.

charging 450% more for a local moving service, holding all household goods hostage for payment of exessive charges threatining us and scaring us
I recieved a quote for a local move of 950.00 based on 7.5 hours for 3 movers. After they loaded all our goods they were on the road and called my cell stating that they would require a certified check or cash of 4800.00 or they would not deliver our goods and they will keep them in a storage facility and charge 500.00 a day until 5 days and after that they could keep our goods. At the new house he showed me a Bill of Lading that had fraudulent services on them; packaging;extra stop; heavy items; that was all I could see as he would not give me a copy of it. *** the driver told me that we could get cash advances on our credit cards as wire the money to eachother to get the cash; he also said we could get gift cards with our credit card and he would accept them. We told him it was 8:00 PM and all banks were closed we could charge the balance, he said no CASH ONLY. They sat in front of the house for 3 hours while we scrambled for a way to get this much money. These guys were big burly russians who were scary and intimitated us; we called the Winter Haven police and they said it was a civil matter; After the cops left *** called me and said YOU CALLED THE COPS ON US WE ARE GONNA DRIVE AWAY WITH YOUR STUFF!! I said we are trying to get the money...we had a 8 week old infant in the home with all her food and things in the truck. We finally got the money and he said that money pays for the time up till now all we can do is unload everything in your garage. I said how much more do you need to load in the house he said 3 hours 345.00 plus tip my workers. I went to ATM and got more money and they unloaded everything in the garage except a couch tv table they left the mattress's on the floor with the frames next to them. No way was this legit they trumped up the charges and held my stuff hostage for cash payment. The next day our cable was not working so we calld for a tech to come to home and the teck said the cable wire outside was cut with a knife. We are fearful of these people and will contact the police.

Desired Outcome

I want the 3000.00 in cash back we gave themMy money back 3000

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The company Atlantic Moving Services LLC sent to do our move on 1/13/18 was EZ Moving Orlando FL They extorted 3000.00 CASH from us. Two of the three men did not speak English they spoke Russian the one man *** that spoke to us said cash only for a job that was estimated to be 950.00 for a local move under 10 miles. After we reluctanly paid them in order to get our goods unloaded, they unloaded the goods in the garage and piled the boxes so high we were unable to get at them (we are two women). The response is scripted from a bogus Arbritation Program called Moving Claims.net from Miami which is also fradulent. I cannot submit any paper work because the driver would not give me any copies of Bill of Lading or inventory they just drove off. We called him on his cell and said you left without giving a hard copy of the paperwork and he said he was sorry and hung up. We are fearful of these people they know where we live we have called them and Atlantic Moving and they will not take our calls or return calls after numerous attempts. We don't know what else we can do.

This moving company is a scam. the verbally agree to lower rates then they pressure the customer to sign to get the movers going. later they fill in the amounts and run the clock. they require cash to deliver you items at a much higher rate or threaten to keep your belongings. somehow all negative reviews disappear from their website. They sent three people to move and sometimes two of them worked. they were late and high pressure. The price continue to go up during the move. My daughter and I ended up moving many of our items ourselves. The sales person who seems to be the customer service person is very rude. It is hard to find any concrete information on this company. while they seem legitimate on the website, I do not think they are.

Atlantic Moving Service Florida Response • Jan 19, 2018

To Whom it may concern,
Our company provided Customer moving services. First and foremost, the client didn't provide us with all items she had to be moved. We were under the impression it was going to be a small move, which was not the case at all. At the same day of the move she informed workers that she has an extra stop to pick up her items from the storage. She had a lot more items... All of her delicate items like dishes, glass tops, pictures, and wardrobes were not packed and her furniture was not protected for transport either, so our movers packed all her items and wrapped all her furniture diligently, and that of course took some time. This move took 2 days to pick up and deliver to her final destination. In this case we lost another job
In the estimate it states clearly that the client needs to prepare for the move, meaning packing his/her items, which in turn would save time and money. There is also a packing material list on the contract which was explained clearly to Customer, which she agreed and understood clearly.
She received her estimate weeks before the actual move date. In the estimate was clearly stated about charges, hours and all conditions of that move. Estimate was signed electronically and physically by client.
Best Regards

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
These are all lies. I had all my items packed in boxes. I had people over before the move that saw I had everything packed. they knew about the stops to the storage unit. we had discussed it it was in my inital quote. they scammed me I have a police case incident taken when they demanded cash to get my stuff. they have refused to answer the phone. I have proof that once there, my daughter and I moved many of my items. from the surveillance camera at the storage unit. they had a job in Orlando after mine. they did wrap up my furniture which I help do. they waited till my furniture was loaded to give me a final bill and demand cash upfront. I would like to know if they are really a licensed company. I was moving a small two bedroom with barely any furniture and no electronics or heavy items.
