Faulty septic system.We have an [redacted] septic system that was installed by Atlantic Onsite. We have waste water coming to the surface. Our grass is being killed. We have green sludge on the surface which appears to be some form of mold or fungus. We have had multiple leaks. The alarm goes off for no apparent reason. After reporting these concerns to Atlantic Onsite they sent someone to repair it. They repaired it by disconnecting the wires to the alarm and covering them in black tape. Content with disabling it, they did not return. They also did not report this to the Health Department as they are required by law to do. We contacted the health department and they came with representatives from the company and conducted an analysis. They decided that all the problems were a result of using to much water. The system is permitted and authorized with the understanding that it must handle no less than 360 gallons per day. We are using less than half of that. Today we discovered that it was not installed in accordance with the permit, and the septic lines are buried less than 2".....yes, two inches....deep.There are six properties in a row on our street that have the same exact issues with the systems installed by Atlantic Onsite. I have urged all to file a formal complaint. One is absolutely committed to seeking resolution in court. One other has had their system replaced under pressure from the Health Department.Desired SettlementWe want Atlantic Onsite to have the system replaced by a third party of our choice, or to provide us with $20,000 dollars so that we may have the system replaced and recuperate the loss in value our home has suffered as a result of the deficient system installed.
