I decided to end my lease early because living at Morningside Courts was the worst experience of my life I wish I could take the time and write all of the details on this review, but it just makes me upset
No one at the company acted in a professional manner No one at the company answered my phone calls/emails I had so many maintenance issues in my apartment that the apartment was actually structurally unsafeThe maintenance guys started yelling at me and told me that they were fixing my apartment as a favor to me The property manager once told me that half of the residents are suing the complex for various reasons
I'm not trying to move out and the property manager will not communicate with me I have called the corporate company and not received a response The property manager actually did not show up for a meeting that we had scheduled the day before for me to go through the move out process with her
DO NOT LIVE IN MORNINGSIDE COURTS If I could rewind time, I wish I could tell myself to live somewhere else

These guys will rake you over the coals and charge you for services never rendered. We were told several times that the carpet was not slated to be replaced, so we agreed to have them clean the carpets. The very next day after we left they tore the carpets out and replaced them anyways and then sent us a bill for $100. ILLEGAL! You can not charge for services never rendered! We asked to be there for the final walk-through inspection, which was a complete joke. The lady spent maybe 2 minutes walking through the apt. We then went to the office where we were told that the real walk-through and detailed inspection would later be performed. What a joke! We told them the whole reason we wanted to be there for the inspection was so we could have the chance to fix whatever they found wrong. We detailed the place and completely painted and fixed things that were not even our responsibility.

I went into the office to question why we were charged to clean carpets that were ripped out and replaced the next day. I mentioned that I did not mind paying for carpets to be cleaned as long as they were truly being cleaned. At first they said they replaced the carpets after trying to clean them and the stains not coming up. I mentioned that it was a lie because the carpets were removed immediately after we left and were never even attempted to be cleaned. We also mentioned that we knew people there who notified us and took pictures as proof. We also mentioned that 2 days after we vacated and after the carpets had already been replaced that they called us and said that it was only going to be $100 charge for carpet cleaning because all stains could easily be removed. The manager then proceeded to give me a number for [redacted] and said that I could call her because she is the one who handles the fees. However, they also mentioned that if I did indeed decide to call her that she would be happy to re-open my file and charge me ~$1200 for the total carpet replacement. At this point I realized that I had been black mailed. Either I eat the $100 fine or I fight it and pay $1200. I just had to walk away. I know I have not been the first one to go through this with [redacted]. But as long as there is not retribution for companies like this then it will continue to go on. That is why I am submitting this review. It needs to be documented. Look up any review online about [redacted] and you will see that I am not the only one that has had the misfortune of dealing with these people.
