The Consumer has grossly misrepresented the facts as stated in their complaint. They have rented their owners rates privileges for profit as a direct violation of the Owners Rates agreement that limited this benefit  to personal use or that of the owner’s immediate family which...

is defined as children, spouse and parents only.  They have engaged in a business enterprise to advertise this personal privilege to the general public. They stated they were unaware of any wrong doing by provide written confirmation to the renters and presented their personal id and payments at each check in an effort to conceal the fact that another party was the actual occupant of the unit they stated to be maintained by themselves. As a result of the blatant violation of the owners rate privileges that limited this benefit for the owner’s personal use or that of their immediate family, we have called all pending reservations and are waiting for Board approval to determine if the privileges will be reinstated. Their claim regarding the airlines ticket is considered frivolous as they were provided written confirmation that the airline ticket redemption required additional purchase of a hotel stay in advance of receiving the gift. The tickets were presented as a gift in conjunction with time needed in taking the tour regardless if they purchased a vacation ownership program. The tickets are in no way affiliated with their ownership. It should also be noted that this did not come to be reported as an issue since 2014 and only after the suspension of the Owners Rate Program to their account.  We will not be providing a refund. We will make the owner aware once the board has decided on this matter at their next meeting. The owner should also contact us directly to arrange the payment of their past due July Mortgage payment.

The consumer was able to utilize their vacation at [redacted] immediately (day 1) and didagree by initialing and signature that any travel outside of the [redacted] would utilize their [redacted]Membership and agreed to wait the necessary 90 after their full deposit for [redacted] Membership activation. Theowner is stating they were able to use their week for trading to Cancun(At a resort of their choosing) and then claims their unit doesn’t have enough tradingvalue for most resorts. Their exchange to Cancun to a resort of their choosing that they subsequently cancelledis evidence that this allegation is untrue. We are available to assist theconsumer in any and all vacation requests either at [redacted] or can offer assistance withexchanges via [redacted] . The certificate for theairline tickets must be redeemed with the gifting agency per their policies asexpressed on the actual certificate in the consumers possession and asexplained to the consumers.

Review: On 8/11 I received a call from [redacted] (e[redacted] congratulating me on winning the raffle I entered into at [redacted] center. He informed me that I not only won 4 airlines tkts but also $200 dining certificate and $900 in coupons to the outlets. I asked what I have to do to claim it and he said just come down to Atlantic Palace to pick it up. Then he said that if I stay for 2 hr long presentation I will ALSO receive (in addition to 3 gifts I already won) 2 nites/3 days hotel stay locally. I said great, I'm off this week, let's schedule it for tomorrow. I agreed to 1pm and he said "that's great you'll get there at 1 pm and be out BY 3pm". He took me through terms of the award (i.e. how to book airline tkts, how to reserve hotel etc) and then he said I will receive an email confirmation shortly. I received an email which I quickly scanned through to verify the appropriate time and date but did not read the rest as I figured we went through everything during a 17-min conversation. On 8/12 I have arrived at the Atlantic Palace and registered with the desk. During the wrap up of the registration process I was informed by [redacted] that the presentation will take 2-2.5 hrs FROM the moment the timeshare consultant will come to me (it was already 1:40 at that time). After seeing how many ppl were still waiting before me I realized not only nobody is going to come soon but also that I won't be out by 3. I then called [redacted] the manager of [redacted], that [redacted] advised me to call after she informed me that if I won't stay through the whole presentation I am NOT getting ANYTHING (NOT EVEN THE 3 AWARDS [redacted] INFORMED ME I WON NO MATTER IF I ATTEND OR NOT). [redacted]was very rude and informed me that I should have read the WHOLE email they sent after I spoke with [redacted] and she did NOT seem to care about what her rep told me. During registration [redacted] also informed me that I am not a first person given incorrect award info and that's why she quickly told me to call [redacted]Desired Settlement: Delivery of 3 items [redacted]. claimed I won as part of the raffle, i.e. 4 tkts, $200 restaurant.com certificate and $900 in coupons to the outlets. As I did not stay for the presentation I did not earn the "bonus" 2 nights/ 3 days. I drove ALL THE WAY down from [redacted] to pick up these 3 awards and was going to participate in the presentation if it ONLY STARTED ON TIME at 1 pm AS SCHEDULED. The business should NOT be scheduling THAT many people at the same time if they can't accommodate everybody at the scheduled time. I am a CPA and if I schedule a meeting with somebody at a certain hour it DOES start at that hour. If [redacted] is having people commit to 2-2.5hr presentation they should AT LEAST be cognizant of the time scheduled. This is a very bad business advertising practice. I was at least expecting manager ([redacted] to have a better customer service skills and not blame potential customers about LYING about what they were told by her rep. I guess the tone comes from the top so...

Review: We feel the sales presentation for [redacted] failed to disclose some key 'conditions' of the offer at the desk. We were told that the free airfare gift will take us where we want to go, (our son was with us and we explained he's turning 18 in Feb 15 and wants to go to Bahamas or Cancun. No problem, you'll have a great time), we get 13 weeks a year to use the program not ONE week like the other time shares. You'll need to purchase the 'platinum' package right now though as they're running out. We were told we can't use timeshare until the fall( this was a june'14 purchase) though there is a 3 day right to recind). How could we have experienced the program in those 3 days when told you can't use it before the fall. We wanted a room for the night in Oct 14 and was told the [redacted] was booked. [redacted] was available. Jan 15 started booking the trip to Cancun for March. Online booked the hotel. Applied for and purchased our passports(never been out of the country) In February learned that the free airfare is part of a promotional gift through another travel agency, We must use THEIR hotels. The hotel we chose in [redacted] catalog is not affiliated with this agency. Called [redacted] to get more clarification and learned of 'Trade values" we were unaware of. He explained the airfare has nothing to do with the timeshare agreement and then told us about the trade values. Our timeshare value is TOO LOW for most hotels in their catalog. The rep said he was puzzled why ours in Atlantic City, the Jersey Shore was so low, and why a November week. He was sorry he couldn't help. Made numerous calls to the [redacted], spoke to Ambassadors, reps, sales, and mnagement and were told "nothing can be done, you signed a contract". Time has now run out and my son missed out on his trip. We feel we were misled in several arears, we have a product with values that do limit us due to low trade values. We would end up paying more after the first weeks use,so why HAVE a timeshare.Desired Settlement: We would like our deposit, maintenance fees, platinum package fees returned and we'd like out of the timeshare agreement. Note monthly payments are still being made during this time.

Review: We were asked while walking down the Boardwalk to come to a timeshare presentation at the [redacted] Resort. We were told it would be an hour and a half to two hour presentation with no obligation to buy. We were promised a mini vacation, $100 in Casino Cash from the [redacted] Casino and some other item.

All we had to do was show up at 11:00 AM and have an open mind.

We originally planned to leave at noon, but we decided to put our departure off for an hour to listen.

When we arrived at 10:45 AM, we were taken into the Atlantic Palace where we showed our ID and filled out cards to show we met their financial criteria.

We were then taken to the next staging area where the sales man probed us to see if we would be purchasing a timeshare points package.

That is when our vacation was ruined. Once the salesman figured we weren't active candidates, he became openly hostile. He spoke with another sales person who told him, loud enough for us to here, "Work them over, and make sure they leave with nothing." He then proceeded to berate us for waisting his time and hurting his bonus. All attempts to show us anything stopped and it was just three men trying to intimidate us into leaving early so they could renege on the gifts we were promised. I offered to leave early and they could just give us $50 in Casino Cash, keep their gifts and go on to the next "customer." He refused my offer and told us we would need to sit through this for 3 hours now to get anything. This went on until the term, "timeshare [redacted] came up and after almost an hour of intimidation and insult.

We left at 12:10 PM with nothing. They refused to go on with the presentation.Desired Settlement: I would like a written apology and what was promised to us.

Review: I attended a presentation for a timeshare and was told that I would receive gifts for attending and that there was no obligation to purchase the time timeshare. When I showed up, 15 minutes into the presentation the gentleman told me that they typically do not have single women attend their presentation and that I was not eligible because I was single....however the confirmation email that I received specifically states that as long as I meet the required income I am eligible.Desired Settlement: I want the items that were promised to me honored: 4 airline tickets, 200 dining card, coupon book to the Tangler Outlets and the 3 day 2 night mini vacation...
