Atlantic Relocation System Reviews (2)

I explained to Atlantic Relocation Systems that the house we were packing and moving in Colorado Springs and moving to my house in Washington state belonged to my parents in law who just passed away. I told them I needed to know the dates for delivery so I could plan to go to Utah and hold a memorial for my father in law. I was given a timeline when my delivery was going to arrive. A week later I was call and asked to move my date back a week. I agreed to it and then booked everything for the memorial service. A week later I received an email confirming the original delivery that would fall during the memorial. I sent an email back saying that would not work and reminded them about the call that they requested to have it pushed back. They emailed me back saying that the later date was correct and that they forgot to notate the file. After that my family and I arrived to over see getting the house moved, which for the most part went fine. After the truck was packed my family and I left the following day to go on a small vacation and then goto the memorial service. On Friday the day before the service I get a call saying the truck will be at my house in Washington at 9:00am Monday morning. I called back telling them that that was the original date before they called me to push the date back a week. They told me there was nothing they could do because the truck was going to be there Monday. To get home in time I would have to drive 13 hours straight. I decided to have my family drive me 6 hours so I could fly back that way I didn't put my whole family through such a miserable drive. Monday morning before the truck arrived I call to get everything paid for. I told the company I wanted a discount because of their mistake that cost me a plan ticket and cutting my vacation short. They said they would work on it and that I would need to pay the whole thing to get the furniture off the truck. I asked the truck driver to see his paperwork and him and I both looked to see what dates where put down. It only showed the original dates. So again the file was not updated the second time I talked to them. I had no chose but to pay the whole bill because I would be charged to holding the furniture at a warehouse. The manager at Atlantic Relocation Systems told me that they were within the dates that looked to be a two week window because of the original dates and the dates they requested to be pushed back to. I disagreed that I did not agree to spending two weeks wondering when the truck would show up. She said she would call but it has been one whole week and not a word.

I moved from one location in Colorado Springs to another six minutes away. The move was a disaster from start to finish. The movers damaged several pieces, one beyond repair. The movers didn't seem to know how to move several of the pieces and took much longer than the estimate. The movers walked around my new house in muddy shoes. I asked them to remove their shoes and they refused. I had to spend several hours cleaning brand new carpet. I filed a claim and was given a "full and final" offer less than the full replacement value. I had paid extra insurance to get full replacement value. I told them I would be filing a complaint with DORA. I got no response so I filed the complaint. Three days later, they called and asked to talk about the settlement. They agreed to pay the claim in full and I received a check yesterday for the full amount. I do not believe they would have paid the full claim if I had not filed a complaint with DORA. It is a shame that the business would not agree to pay me what I was legally owed until I filed a complaint. with the Department of Regulatory Agencies. I think they thought they could give me a "low ball" offer and I would accept it to get the unpleasant and time consuming process completed. I am stisfied with the outcome. However, I believe the company used the same tactic on me that they probably use on other customers to avoid paying when customers purchase full value insurance. I can not prove my belief, but the claims manager seemed to be very familiar with these tactics. He is not one of the two men who called to talk about the settlement. Those two men were very polite and wanted the complaint with DORA withdrawn. I agreed to withdraw the complaint as soon as I received the payment. I will withdraw the complaint today. The fact that they paid me the full amount of the claim does not change the way I feel about the move. It was terrible and I should not have been subjected to the level of "service" this company provided to me. I have told many people about this company. I told my realtor and she has told her clients and co-workers about this company. They will certainly tell their clients to avoid this company. I am pleased with the settlement, but I am not happy about the time and anxiety associated with having to go through the process.
