ATLANTIC TIRES DID NOT FIX MY TRUCK WHEN I LEFT ATLANTIC TIRES MY TRUCK WAS SMOKING.WHEN I TOOK MY TRUCK TO ATLANTIC TIRES IT WAS NOT SMOKING SO I TOOK TO ANOTHER SHOP AND THE MAN STATED THAT NOTHING WAS DONE TO REPAIR MY TRUCK.Desired SettlementI REALLY WOULD LIKE MY MONEY BACK I DID'NT HAVE ANY EXTRA MONEY TO JUST GIVE AWAY...Business Response /[redacted]/Mr. [redacted] arrived on 01/30 with his battery in hand. The battery tested good so the vehicle was then towed here. After installing the battery, the vehicle would still not start. Further testing showed no communication to/from the computer of the truck. After replacing a fuse and repairing a wiring harness to the computer, the truck started and ran fine. After a 20 minute test drive, another electrical test, everything passed. We advised Mr. [redacted] that there still may be other issues and typed that on his invoice. He returned on 02/05 stating his truck died. We advised that we needed to re-test his truck but he chose to take it somewhere else. We then received a call stating his alternator was bad and wanted us to replace it for free. As offered, if he wants to bring us an alternator, we will install it for him at no charge, but his alternator was charging on 01/30, otherwise the truck would not have been able to run for another 6 days.

Dishonest business practices. I went in on a Saturday for my annual inspection on my two cars. My first car passed with no issues, but when I brought in my second car, they failed it for emissions. They said they could keep it and run diagnostics to find the problem, so I said that's fine. It's an old car, so it wasn't entirely surprising that something was wrong with it. I get a call the following Monday morning telling me that both of my exhaust manifolds were cracked, and to fix it would be somewhere around $600. I said I wasn't sure the car was worth that, so to hold off on any repairs and I'd check with my husband and my dad, who is the son of a mechanic. Shortly afterwards I get another call, this time offering me a "special discount," which set off red flags. I again stated that I wanted my dad to have a look, so please hold off. When my dad took a look he suspected that they were wrong, so we took it to another inspection place. They passed it with flying colors. Even worse, when we investigated the exhaust manifolds, supposedly it is "virtually impossible" for them to be damaged in the way we were told that they were. Additionally, when we took a closer look at the repair estimate, we saw that the bill would have charged us for a ton of things that were not disclosed to me during the discussion of the charges, such as a 4-wheel alignment. So my dad calls Atlantic back, because we want a refund for at least the diagnostics, since there wasn't anything wrong with my car in the first place that would have needed diagnostics to be run. The manager says he's going to pull paperwork and talk to the mechanic, then get back to my dad. It's been three weeks and we have not heard back from them at all.Desired SettlementI'd like a refund for the cost of the diagnostics service.Business Response /[redacted]/The vehicle was brought into our store to have its annual state inspection. At that time it was determined by one of our technicians to have an exhaust lea which fails N.C. state inspection. The technician found the one side manifold to be leaking badly and the other side of the manifold to have small cracks in it therefore both were recommended. This was the only repaired need to pass annual inspection. I believe there were some other recommendations in the estimate that were for preventative maintenance only not state inspection. The car was taken by the customer to another shop out of town and was passed for inspection. I would like the vehicle to be brought back to our location so I can have another technician inspect the car to determine if the exhaust is leaking or not. Our business has nothing to hide and would love the opportunity to make this situation right. If there was any wrong doing or mis diagnosis on my technicians part then we can easily determine that by re checking the manifolds. The customer can be in the shop at all times when this is done. I attempted to call the customer and left a message a few weeks ago or so and have not heard back. Thank you for your time and look forward to getting this resolved

Transmission changed resulted in transmission problem, car immobileTransmission fluid recommendation made to be changed on Honda civic. Fluid changed 5/9/15 receipt available. Prior to this fluid change , car was working and in drive able condition. Car left me stuck twice had to tow home within the next few days. Car then initially only shifted to reverse, car now does not shift to any gears.. Called Atlantic tire, they do not repair transmissions. I would have to incur additional expense to get the car transported there in order to be read to diagnose problem. Prior to this transmission fluid change, I had changed the radiator, oil change and wheel alignment. I have all receipts . This receipt for transmission repair is Account number XXXXXX, work order XXXXXX, sales person [redacted] Total amount paid 173.27.Desired SettlementI would appreciate my car to be in drive able condition the same way I brought to them prior to fluid being changed. If there was going to be a problem or subsequent issue, the disclaimer should had been given prior to service. It has been a major inconvenience to not have a car readily available and now I am incurring additional expenses because I can not get to work. In addition to making car payments and insurance payments on a car I can not drive.Business Response /[redacted]/Ms [redacted] brought her vehicle in on Saturday May 9th complaining that the engine would rev when pressing the gas pedal. She asked for a transmission fluid change. We noted that her check engine light was on prior to service and she declined any diagnosis. It was also noted that the vehicle had l/r bumper damage and the 2 drive belts were worn. Further more, She has NOT called us to make us aware of this problem and we DO perform transmission repairs. Shift solenoids on most all Honda vehicles are known to have an issue at higher milage. This is well documented on the internet and Honda dealerships keep these in stock as they are a known problem. I feel pretty confident that a PROPER diagnosis of the check engine light will help her understand what is wrong with her car, but with a known issue prior to service and a shift complaint prior to service, I can not accept liability on this complaint. Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions I may not have answered

AFTER HAVING THE ROTORS REPLACED ON ALL 4 WHEELS.MY LUGNUTS WERE NOT TIGHTENED CAUSING 3 WHEELS TO COME ALMOST COMPLETELY OFF OF THE CAR WHILE DRIVINGAFTER HAVING WORK DONE ON MY VEHICLE I PICKED IT UP AND DROVE HOME. THE NEXT DAY WHILE I WSA DRIVING I NOTICED A STRANGE NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE A FLAT TIRE. I PULLED OVER, GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND PROCEEDED TO INSPECT FOR A FLAT. EVERYTHING LOOKED NORMAL. I DROVE ANOTHER 4 MILES TO A RELATIVES HOUSE ONLY FOR MY BROTHER-IN-LAW TO NOTICE MY WHEELS WERE WOBBLING AND ALMOST OFF OF THE CAR. EVERY LUG NUT ON THE FRONT 2 WHEELS AND THE REAR PASSENGER [redacted] WERE LOOSE. THEY COULD BE REMOVED BY HAND. MY BROTHER-IN-LAW WENT AROUND TO EVERY WHEEL AND TIGHTENED ALL LUG NUTS. THE NEXT DAY I RETURNED TO ATLANTIC TIRE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NOT THEIR FAULT BECAUSE EACH CAR GOES THROUGH 2 INSPECTIONS BEFORE IT LEAVES THE BAY. THEN I WAS TOLD THAT IT MUST HAVE BEEN SOMEBODY WHO LOOSENED THEM ALL. (EVERY LUG WAS LOOSE INCLUDING THE ONE WITH THE WHEEL LOCK.) UPON FURTHER INSPECTION THEY TELL ME THAT OOPS THE LUG NUTS WERE OVER TORQUED AND 3 OF THE THINGS THAT THE LUG NUT SCREWS ON TO WERE BROKEN AND THEY WOULD REPLACE THEM. FREE OF CHARGE OF COURSE. 2 1/2 HOURS LATER I WAS ABLE TO LEAVE. NOT ONE EMPLOYEE WAS CONCERNED THAT I WAS ALMOST KILLED BY THEIR SLACK WORK. NOT ONLY COULD THIS HAVE KILLED ME BUT I HAVE A 1 1/2 YEAR OLD NEPHEW WHO TRAVELS WITH ME. I ALSO FEEL AS THOUGH I HAVE BEEN DISCRIMINATED AGAINST AS I WAS LIED TO BECAUSE I AM A FEMALE. IF THE STEMS WERE ACTUALLY BROKEN THEN THE LUG NUTS WOULD NOT HAVE TIGHTENED ALL THE WAY WHEN MY BROTHER-IN-LAW TIGHTENED THEM. IF BROKEN THEY WOULD HAVE JUST KEPT SPINNING AROUND LOOSE. I FEEL AS THOUGH THEY ASSUME I AM TOO STUPID TO KNOW ANY BETTER. THE WORK WAS DONE ON AUGUST 28, 2014. THE MAN WHO TOLD ME THE TALL TALES WAS NAMED [redacted] IT WAS OVER$400 TO HAVE THE ROTORS REPLACED AND THE OIL CHANGED. WHEN I ASKED HOW I COULD GET THE TIME BACK THAT I SPENT WAITING FOR THE NECESSARY REPAIRS I GOT LAUGHED AT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.Desired SettlementI WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST PAYMENT FOR MY ADDED TIME AND FUEL MILES TO RETURN TO THIS LOCATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $125. THAT IS THE AMOUNT I HAVE COME UP WITH HOWEVER THERE IS NO AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT CAN BUY MY LIFE BACK IF THIS WERE TO HAVE SEVERELY INJURED MYSELF OR OTHERS.Business Response /[redacted]/We have contacted this customer directly to discuss her concerns and resolve this complaint. We have agreed that this complaint has been resolved to her satisfaction. Consumer Response /[redacted]/I have spoken with management. We agreed on things and he apologized for what happened. Final Consumer Response

Compressor was replaced and 36 days later the air conditioner is not working againOn June 1, 2016 I took my vehicle to Atlantic Tire & Service to get the wheel bearing replaced. When I left the car in their possession, my air conditioner was blowing out cold air. I received a call from Atlantic Tire to tell me my compressor was bad, but since my AC was still working, I didn't need to get it replaced at the moment. I was given an estimate when I returned to get the car in the amount of $1068.26 to replace the compressor. I went outside to my truck to leave and noticed the air conditioner was blowing hot air and not working. I went back inside to speak with the manager, [redacted] and explained to him when I left my car in their possession my air conditioner was working. Mr. [redacted] gave me a new estimate of $554.02 to replace the compressor. There is a huge difference in the price for the compressor from the first estimate to the second. On June 15, 2016, I took my car back to Atlantic Tire for them to replace the compressor. My air conditioner worked well until July 21, 2016. It is once again blowing out hot air. This business should not be overcharging for parts and the work performed should be of excellent quality. I should not have problems with my air conditioner 36 days after replacement of the compressor.Desired SettlementI want my air conditioner fixed free of charge and I want it to last much longer than 36 days after it is repaired.Business Response ALL OF OUR SERVICE WORK COMES WITH A FULL NATIONWIDE, 2 YEAR 24000 MILE WARRANTY. WE RE CHECKED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT IT HAD A LOOSE CONNECTION CAUSING A FREON LEAK ON THE NEW COMPRESSOR. ALL WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AT NO CHARGE TO CUSTOMERTHE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT NO CHARGE TO CUSTOMER ON 07/25/2016
