Review: Purchased two parts for a large flat screen TV.
(1) New Engine &
(1) New Lamp
Approximately 5 months later TV stops working. Owner says warranty 6 months and claims he will not fix TV.
Owner took almost 4 weeks to tell me over phone today 3-13-2014
Owner is nasty to talk to and hung up several times.
This is my dad TV and he is 73 years old I feel this company took full advantage of my dad and myself, because I made the payment for him due to health reasons. Total amount paid $859.00 plus more .
Now owner will not talk and hangs up Very Disrespectful!!!!!Desired Settlement: Owner claims warranty expired for 2 parts that were replaced. but never fixed the TV. TV lasted about 4-5 months but due to health reasons the store wasn't notified until 5th month and store waited additional 4 weeks to tell me warranty expired and refuse to fix or refund.. Owner is Very Nasty on phone and hung up twice so there was no explanation to why he waited additional 4 weeks to notify me....This Atlantic TV and Video is non cooperative and hard to get along due to this same Owner I spoke to when making the first order to fix.. His workers are not cooperative either but I will not contact them anymore for service but will wait for someone to tell me the next step to get this problem with company or [redacted] (less than 6 months fixed) resolved !

Response:
On July 22nd, 2013 our technician went to [redacted] house in [redacted], NJ, to check out his [redacted] television. The television lamp was not lighting. Upon installing a new lamp, the technician found out that the resulting picture had a green hue to it. The technician determined that the television would need a light engine to correct the problem. An estimate was
given and [redacted] approved it.
The light engine Was ordered. The technician went to [redacted] house on July 31“, 2013 and installed the light engine. The total charge was $854.93 including tax. The warranty on the light engine is six (6) months, and our labor is guaranteed for 90 days. On March 2"“, 2014, Seven (7) months after the completion of the repair, [redacted] daughter, [redacted] called and stated that the television has the same problem. We told her that we would check with the manufacturer and see if they would extend the warranty beyond the six months. The manufacturer got back to us on March 10‘“, 2014
and told us that they would not extend the warranty period.
I called the daughter on March 1 1‘“, 2014 and left a message on her answering machine to call me back. She finally called me back on March 17th, 2014. When I told her about the manufacturer’s decision she became
hostile. I told her that in interest of good customer relations that I would
check out the television to see if indeed it is the same problem, but she would have to bring it in to us. She said that her father moved out of state and that she could not bring it to us. I told her that in that case I’m unable to do anything for her. At that point she became even more hostile and I hung up on her. We will not do anything for her because at this point we do not
even know whether she needs alight engine or something else.
