Midwest Moving is the absolute worst moving company we have ever hiredFirst they constantly changed the dates they would pick up and deliver our furnitureWhen our furniture was delivered every piece was scratched and dentedI couldn't believe our basically brand new furniture looked so rattyEven the stuff we boxed up was brokenWhen I tried to get some compensation I was told we had to first pay a $deductibleThere is nothing good I can say about this company, How they are even in business still surprises me

We used Mid-West to move a bdrm house from Alberta to OntarioI observed the crew loading the truck at the origin and although they did a great job of securing our possessions and loading the furniture and boxes appropriatelyALL handling after that was done by is or monkeysThe load that arrived in the transport was all fallen forward having been loaded terriblyOnce the items started coming off the truck we found most damage wasn't from the shift in the final load...as all the boxes had been crushed, rubbermaid containers smashed and furniture broken in so many waysThey placed small boxes on top of big boxes and then bigger boxes on top with no attention to structure or void spaceslarge furniture was placed on boxes clearly marked fragile They take no responsibility for any damages to customer packed boxes, and this is REGARDLESS of how they handle them with a ridiculous disrespect for your valuable possessionsI'm sure they throw boxes or drop them off loading docks as they handle them from truck to storage to train containers, and back to storage, a truck, and to your home They charged us two origin charges as they brought a small truck for the pickup and had to return two days laterwith the semi trailer they should have come with in the first place We rightfully paid twice as much for the weight charges as their estimate for the bdrm house was half what it should have beenwe understood this was difficult for them to accurately estimate, but close would have been expectedWe understood the requirements of the per lb quoteHOWEVERwe paid a dear amount for everything being mishandled and so much damageat the destination we had to get a dumpster as we unpacked to dispose of the damaged belongings When we sought answers, the best they would give us was an apology and were sorry that we felt that our items had been mishandledwe were blown off NEVER USE THEM, NEVER RECOMMEND THEM

Mid-West Moving and Storage helped me move from Vancouver,BC to Camrose, AB and I have nothing except the words of praise during this moving experienceI was dealing with [redacted] who was lovely and extremely helpful during the whole process [redacted] and his wife wrapped everything in protective blankets and made sure everything is nicely packedThey were on time both in Vancouver and in Camrose and I still can not believe how fast they wereThe only thing that was broken was a coffee cup and that was due to my own mistake as I put the cup in the wrong box that was not marked fragile and I did not wrap it in protective paperI would definitely use this company again

Job well done , On time , care was taken to protect furniture during move , very professional on handling furniture in and out of house , thanks again for help on assembling some furniture, would highly recommend to friends

We booked our move from Calgary to Vancouver for pick up on Oct22, and to be delivered at different addresses in Vancouver on Oct25,
Debra from Midwest confirmed that this was no problemWe had reserved, in Vancouver, a warehouse on the main floor of a storage warehouse for easy unloadingWhen the truck arrived on Oct25, the driver informed us that the load to be stored in our storage unit would not arrive until the following Sunday Nov1, and that Midwest would call us to confirm the time of arrivalWe did not hear anything from Midwest for a week and we finally called them and they told us they did not have enough of a load and it would be an other week The following week of Nov8, we called again and wanted to know why the load had not arrived since they promised to have it delivered that weekAgain an excuse that they did not have a full truck load but would let us know the following week
Finally on the week of Nov16, they informed us that the load would arrive on Nov22, Because of the late arrival of our load we lost our reserved storage unit on the main floor When the truck arrived at our storage warehouse the truck driver requested a $extra charge because our storage unit was on the second floor and they had to use the elevatorWe refuse to pay this charge since they were a month late with our load
After unloading we found tote bins missingMidwest have not been able to find thoseAlso some of our furniture had bad scratched and will have to be repaired
We will not recommend your for any moves

We just moved from BC to Alberta and we cannot say enough good things about George & DebraBetween to the two of them, they made our move go so smoothI highly recommend using Mid-West Moving! It's a fantastic moving company with great people!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
They are the worst movers ever First she is great and sympathetic and caring but once they have your stuff It all changesThey ad charges without your permission, they take stuff they are not supposed to take and they do not listen Then they break everything and just chuck your items around They hold you hostage as they have all your stuff I still do not have my stuff and I being a single mom do not have the resources to pay double what was quoted

DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY WITH A TEN FOOT POLEWe were continuously lied to, and treated like pawns in the whole situationThings went relatively smoothly until my husband and I were on our honeymoon overseas, and received an email saying if we "didn't reply by noon today to confirm the change of date of your pick up, I've been leaving messages on your phone all week" then the moving company would cancel our contractMeanwhile we had limited wifi and had not checked our email in several days, therefore missing the deadline to replyPrior to this, the customer service agent and I had only corresponded by email so I am not sure why telephoning numerous times with no response was her preferred method of communicationWhile we were still overseas, we had to contact family to try and phone the company, as we literally had ONE DAY between our honeymoon and our pickup date, August 22, which they had decided to move up by one dayCompletely without our inputOriginally we were told 5-business days before our stuff would arrive, which is why we chose the moving date that we didFamily had booked flights to come help us move on the other endThen we find out it will be MONTH before our stuff would arriveLuckily we found this out before we drove out to Ontario, but it caused us to have to unpack boxes and take out more items we would require for the monthOne month from our pick up date I call the company and ask what the arrival date will beI found out that the "customer service" agent had "no idea" our items were still being stored in Calgary, and that they would be shipped out September Meanwhile I was informed I could not speak to a supervisor, nor would they reimburse us of any inconvenienceSummer was ending, and I had no appropriate autumn clothes, not having anticipated requiring clothes for more than one monthFurthermore, the company told us that they were "having trouble with their Ontario office and currently trying to hire a new office" to deal with our items once they arrived in OntarioWe were told that the moving company "didn't want to send our items with the old company in case there was trouble." Then they sent us our quote, which charged us for the one month storage fee in CalgaryWhen I called to tell them I would not be paying that seeing as I did NOT WANT my items stored in Calgary for a month, I was told that they "mistakenly sent me someone else's quote." A total lie because everything on the quote was correct including pick up address etcThey also had not included the student discount they'd promised as my husband is a studentIn the end our items arrived in Toronto TWO MONTHS after being picked up in Edmonton, On October I remind you that the first estimate was 5-business daysFurthermore, when I asked the Ontario movers, on a hunch, whether they recently had begun working for midwest, they replied "NO, we have been working with Midwest for ages, and they are terrible!" So the Calgary company had completely lied to us about the reason our items were held up in Calgary for a monthThis experience caused a LOT of unnecessary stress and inconvenience, including intruding on our honeymoon among other thingsThe customer service is a JOKE, and this company needs to be investigated for TERRIBLE mishandling of people's moving situations

Very bad company
I moved from Calgary to Toronto
They told me it will take to business days but
I got my stuff after days and damage on two sofas, damage on dinner table, two leather chairs missing

This was the worst moving company ever! We had lots of broken furniture! My antique cedar chest is broken and missing a piece, out picnic table top is missing ( it was glass so I assume it is broken) My grandma's antique China broke, our electric fireplace showed up in broken pieces and is sitting on our garage floor I'm missing family pictures, amongst other items Our belongings looked as if they were thrown in the truck and ready to go to the dump Dealing with the company prior to our move was a positive experience Once they got our money for our move, things took a turn for the worse Dealing with the claims department wasn't any better

I would NOT recommend Mid West to anyone

Mid-West Movers sent us two movers who did not get the job done. Over the course of six hours they managed to move a washer, a dryer, an armoire and thirteen small items that a non-mover could have easily handled. They showed up 45 minutes late and needed 30 minutes before they could place the first piece onto the moving truck. The driver was observed teaching the assistant how to do simple tasks, such as wrapping chairs, giving the impression that the assistant was new or casual labor without any experience in this type of business.

Although everything had been broken down for them beforehand, the work
continued at a glacial pace. In addition to this, the driver had no map to where he was going and took longer than normal moving from point 'a' to point 'b'. The driver also dropped the antique armoire, trying to move it alone down the truck ramp. When asked about how compensation could be claimed for any damage on this antique piece, he refused to take responsibility, stating that an antique piece was already damaged. This expensive piece now wobbles.

The office had told our family it would bill us after the job was done, but the driver demanded payment upon completion of the job. He claimed he had lost his telephone, so there was no way to reconcile this issue with the office immediately. He insisted we sign the contract although there was no closure to the matter on hand. He refused to leave until one of us had signed, even though we were unconvinced the contract was correct and had been executed faithfully. Eventually one of us had to tell him to leave our property.

In the course of eight different moves in the US, Canada and Europe, these were by far the slowest movers we have ever encountered. Most of our items were never moved at all by this company, as their slow pace made us cut the job short.

When we complained to the company office, the staff recognized our experience was negative, but insisted that its movers were professional, experienced and that full payment for services should follow as soon as possible. We find both the service and the response to the complaint to be unsatisfactory. The performance of this job certainly was not worth the charge of roughly $[redacted]

Mid-West Moving and Storage helped me move from Vancouver,BC to Camrose, AB and I have nothing except the words of praise during this moving experience. I was dealing with [redacted] who was lovely and extremely helpful during the whole process. [redacted] and his wife wrapped everything in protective blankets and made sure everything is nicely packed. They were on time both in Vancouver and in Camrose and I still can not believe how fast they were. We used Mid-West to move a 4 bdrm house from Alberta to Ontario. I observed the crew loading the truck at the origin and although they did a great job of securing our possessions and loading the furniture and boxes appropriately.. ALL handling after that was done by is or monkeys.. The load that arrived in the transport was all fallen forward having been loaded terribly. Once the items started coming off the truck we found most damage wasn't from the shift in the final load...as all the boxes had been crushed, rubbermaid containers smashed and furniture broken in so many ways. They placed small boxes on top of big boxes and then bigger boxes on top .. with no attention to structure or void spaces.. large furniture was placed on boxes clearly marked fragile.

They take no responsibility for any damages to customer packed boxes, and this is REGARDLESS of how they handle them with a ridiculous disrespect for your valuable possessions.. I'm sure they throw boxes or drop them off loading docks as they handle them from truck to storage to train containers, and back to storage, a truck, and to your home.

They charged us two origin charges as they brought a small truck for the pickup and had to return two days later.. with the semi trailer they should have come with in the first place.

We rightfully paid twice as much for the weight charges as their estimate for the 4 bdrm house was half what it should have been.. we understood this was difficult for them to accurately estimate, but close would have been expected. We understood the requirements of the per lb quote.. HOWEVER.. we paid a dear amount for everything being mishandled and so much damage. . at the destination we had to get a dumpster as we unpacked to dispose of the damaged belongings.

When we sought answers, the best they would give us was an apology and were sorry that we felt that our items had been mishandled.. we were blown off.

NEVER USE THEM, NEVER RECOMMEND THEM

When our furniture was delivered every piece was scratched and dented. I couldn't believe our basically brand new furniture looked so ratty. Even the stuff we boxed up was broken. Price is double the estimate. So unprofessional movers. False delivery dates. Missing items. Broken items. No actual claim, just fake process no matter your items value. Externally urgent and unethical representative/management team.
