Atlantis Homes Reviews (5)

While working with the customer on a 16' x 64' home, it was found that the current setbacks prevent a home of any size to be placed on the lot. The Construction Manager from Atlantis Homes worked with theCounty to allow a home on the lot, with a maximum size of 16' x 56 ft., without the cost of...

a variance by re configuring the rear set back. Customer was informed early in the process of the 6 - 8 week factory build time for the home and the 4 - 6 week time frame for site work, weather permitting. The home was ordered and the customer was informed of an off-line date of the week of 11/30. This meant the home should move the following week. The factory was backed up and the home arrived at the Millsboro Sales Center on  12/17. The Home was on the customer's lot in days following Christmas moratorium on hauling. We are 4 weeks into the connection process. At this time, we have finished the majority of the site work. There were delays while Tidewater Utilities located the long disconnected sewer/water lines so service would be reestablished. Now, everything is waiting on the Electric Company to install the meter for power at the site.  Once there is power, the customer's propane company will be able to connect and have heat in the home. We will call for the Certificate of Occupancy and then permission is given to move in. The recent storm has slowed the completion of steps and skirting. The lot was under water for the past few days. The final work will be completed as quickly as possible. Weather permitting. In the documents, signed by the customer, she was encouraged to have power to the site as quickly as possible. We are not the customer for the utility and therefore have less input. It is the policy at Atlantis to review the impact weather can have on all projects. This was covered by her sales person and by the sales manager. As of 7:00 am on 1/28/2016 the electric contractor stated Ms. *** doesn't have a meter because she has not signed her contract with Delmarva Power so there is no customer for this address. The utility company claims to have tried to contact her many times with no response. Her account has been pending since the end of October when she first submitted her application. Our salesman *** emailed her that morning asking her to please complete the contract with Delmarva Power so we can finish her home.

I have NO idea what you did for me.  Forget it, and Now I Know what Revdex.com does.

The first sign that this was going to be the worst experience should have been when they could not even get our lot cleared properly but we gave them every benefit we could. From the start we told them we wanted the whole lot cleared, I know that its normal for them to only clear where the house and driveway goes but from the beginning Kathryn stated it would be no problem to clear the whole lot. There must be a very big disconnect from Kathryn and John because the whole lot was not cleared and that was a process getting the contractors out to get the lot cleared completely. To this day there are still stumps all over the property that the contractors did not get. In fact when the foundation was placed the guys had to take an extra 2 hours to get a huge stump out from in the middle of the property to even lay the foundation. The same thing happened when the guys came to do the well and septic.
There are things missing in the house that we made sure to tell Kathryn we wanted in the house like fans in all the rooms, which did not happen and we had to go buy the fans ourselves and have them installed. Also we were supposed to have a garbage disposable in the kitchen and there is not one there.
We were told we would be in by the beginning of November and that did not happen it is now the end of December and we are still not in the house. There are many things that are still not accomplished. The front steps are not placed, still missing a new toilet in the master bathroom, fire place needs set up, fans need to be installed, door knobs need replaced, storm door needs installed and the list goes on and on. We have tried to contact Kathryn and she is unable to help due to this not "being her area". John is unable to help due to him not knowing how to do his job and being very unprofessional with his customers.
Overall the WORST experience.

also and additional check sent to her for paint. Also attached is a copy of a work order showing that her sliding glass door was replaced on 5/14/14.We consider this matter closed.

Review: Asked Atlantis to make repair to our brand new mobile home this is what we received: they sent in someone who isn't a contractor which made a huge mess in the brand new home, nail pops were covered never sanded and repainted, he put caulk on every nail pop/nail hole windows and walls which was not sanded or repainted throughout entire house there smears of this caulk the bathroom and kitchen counters are sealed with a thinks glob of clear caulk looks HORRIBLE all up over the walls the walls do not have enough paint so white is showing through (I have started process of repainting) the front door leaked all that had to be torn out and redone, the tub was not level, it took three visits to correct this They refuse to switch out the sliding doors which are sticking and now doors in spots are worn to bare metal the axels from the house are not here they were taken and resold without my permission we had to clean up all the trash left after house was up including block and hunks of concrete that busted my wheel barrow they left the electric line hot for three months (this has happened at three other homes we visited) the siding has black spots on it that will no clean off the house has shifted on foundation and doors do not close properly and my dishwasher has to be lifted and pulled to right to close...I think an attorney needs to look at thisDesired Settlement: I want at least another 300 for paint I want a new sliding glass door and I want it installed properly
