Atlas Heating put a brad new furnace and humidifier in my house years ago We've had to have them back out since then several times to fix broken parts The last time our furnace stopped working I was fed up with Atlas and decided to call a different company A technician from said company came quickly diagnosed the problem He told my husband and me that the part that was broken was a $partHe also informed us that the humidifier was not working at all We we thanked him but as the parts were under warranty with Atlas we decided to have them come out and fix it When my husband called Atlas Heating they refused to make a free service call We informed them that we already knew what the problem was and that they needed to come out and replace the broken parts The "manager" informed my husband that the parts were free however the service call and work were not
Obviously this was very frustrating as they sold us a bad furnace
I told the "manager" what was wrong with the furnace (as we'd just had someone look at it) and he promised me that they would have the parts with them to fix it when they came We had a repair technician out the next day, during service hours, so we would not have to pay ridiculous after hour services fees
The repair technician that Atlas sent out swore up and down that what the other company's technician told us was wrong Atlas's repair technician told us that a different (much cheaper) part was broken and that he had to leave and come back with the part (after the "manager" explicitly told me the technician would have everything he needed on the truck.) We argued with him about the broken part but he was adamant that we were wrong
Once the technician changed the part we paid him for the service callWhich, again was frustrating as it was under warranty not to mention an all-around lemon as it's failed before
Not even two days later our furnace wasn't working again! We had to have the repair technician out on a Saturday, where I had to spend hours in a cold house waiting for him When he finally showed up he informed me that we (and the technician from the other company) had been correct about which part in our furnace was broken
Finally, our furnace was fixed I feel as though I should also note they Atlas did fix our humidifier, however I question if we would have ever known it wasn't working if we hadn't had the other company out to look at it
Needless to say I would NEVER use Atlas Heating again for anything nor would I ever recommend their business
