Dear *** ***,The patient presented with broken teeth #& #on 8/30/for emergency evaluation and treatmentShe presented her new insurance information at the time of her appointmentOur patients are aware that we require hours notice if there are any changes made to their
insurance to give our staff time to verify the benefitsOur office strives to provide outstanding care for our insured patients and abides by all insurance guidelines.I spoke directly to *** Representative on 09/26/and they stated that the patient was over chargedI stated to *** insurance that we would gladly refund the patient any amount owing once we receive the payment and the explanation of benefits from insurance stating the exact patient's responsibility.Patient provided incomplete information on her complaint to the Revdex.com, she failed to disclose the second part of the explanation of benefits for the buicharges.After receiving the information from her insurance, I contacted the patient to discuss the amount owed and the method of refundThe patient did not return my voicemail.Though we make every effort to give our patients accurate estimates at the time a treatment plan is presented, our proposals clearly state that this is an estimate only, and we are not the insurance companyOur front desk specialist made an honest mistake due to lack of time trying to verify the new insurance information while the patient is in the chair getting her dental emergency addressed.
