I have received your letter explaining the complaint noted above which was submitted to you on
10/13/by *** *** *** In checking our records I see that we received Mr*** pen for repair on 10/1/This pen has not been manufactured since and at that time the suggested retail price was $155.00. We issued a quotation for this repair on approximately 10/8/which would have been $for a new nib and inner barrel. The writing point, or nib, on his pen was bent and needed to be replaced and the inner barrel was separated from the outer barrel. Since this was an 18k Gold nib and the price of gold has increased over the years that is the reason that we quoted the price of $for the nib and then there was a $shipping and handling charge
Our warranty is against defects in materials and workmanship and does not include damage, missing parts or wear. Since there had been damage to the nib and the inner barrel his pen could not be repaired under our warranty. Mr*** refused the quotation on 10/13/and we returned his pen to him as it was received at no charge
