Auburn Racquet Club Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: I signed up for Personal Training sessions at Auburn Racquet Club after surgery in April 2013. I chose a monthly payment for three weekly sessions and things were going well until I started having back pain/strain and needed to stop my sessions in July/August of 2013, until I was ok'd to continue by my physician. I called to cancel my monthly payment and placed the sessions on hold until I was medically cleared as I had 48 sessions paid for and not used due to my back problems. The ARFC agreed to stopping my personal training at that time and knew I would contact them when I was cleared to come back. A few months later, in Dec 2013, I was unable to go back to finish my remaining sessions due to continued back issues and asked for a refund at that time. I have been given the run around for over two years, with the [redacted], stating they would refund my money on multiple occasions and now have been told that they will not be refunding my money due to a lawsuit gone bad. I was patient and understanding all this time and feel taken advantage of by Auburn Racquet and Fitness Club. I was debited the money for my sessions to Auburn Racquet Club and Fitness and they should at the very least refund the $2,552 dollars I am owed from nearly two years ago. This is terrible business and I am appalled by the [redacted]'s negligence and fraud. Auburn Racquet Club and fitness club has not only gone back on their word but stolen from me. I am disheartened by the unethical and drawn out handling of my situation. Please be cautious with this place of business as they are not reputable or fair.Desired Settlement: I am asking for the 2,552 dollars I paid for sessions I never received and was told I would be refunded for multiple times. This is bad business and they should make it right.

Response:

Response:[redacted] was a member of the Auburn Racquet & Fitness Club and prepaid for Personal Training services. At the time, 1 Lifestyle Personal Training was under contract to provide Personal Training services for ARFC. The money Ms [redacted] paid went to 1 Lifestyle, who subsequently breached the contract, did not render services, and did not return the money to ARFC. ARFC then filed suit against 1 Lifestyle to recover the money. Judgment was found in favor of ARFC, but the money has not been recovered. Ms [redacted] apparently made several attempts to collect the money from 1 Lifestyle, as they continue to do business across town here in Auburn, but was denied. As a show of good faith, ARFC has offered to provide the Personal Training services, (or the equivalent in other services or membership dues), that she originally paid for. We regret that ARFC is unable to provide Ms [redacted] a refund, and stands by the offer to provide the services that she originally paid for. Thanks for your consideration in this matter.
