Review: The company invoiced me for $90 and charged me $140. They did not notify me that the rent would go up and invoiced my the $90 per month I had paid since 2009. The office manager credited the $50 over paymnet but the owner charged it again. Not only did they hold up the $50 overcharge but by recharging the $50 they were holding up $100 of unexpected funds the weekend of my child's birthday. After having her manager call to tell me she would not allow the credit, I spoke to the owner. The owner was rude and asked me to get the stuff out that day, a work day. I explained I had paid for the month of June and would have my stuff out before it was over. People should not do business with the current owner of Auburn Storage because she is unethical and rude. There are many other options out there.Desired Settlement: I have filed a charge back with my bank for the over payment now that my belongings are off the property. She can not resolve what she did. I want others to be warned before they get involved.

Response:
I want a credit of the $50 overpayment as my resolution.

Response:
This entire complaint is untrue and fabricated. Auburn Storage did send out a notice of rent increase by certified mail along with a 10 day notice for failure to pay rent since Ms. [redacted] was delinquint at that time. The notice stated that at her next rental payment due date the rate would increase. When she called to make the payment she was charged the new rate and was informed by the office manager. She then called and asked to speak to the owner. I told her that we had already notified her of the increase and would not credit her account for the amount she claimed was overpaid.
The office manager never reversed any charges and I never re-charged anything. She then stated that she was going to move out at the end of the month and I told her that would be fine. Ms. [redacted] also stated that she was going to file an overcharge with her credit card company and again I told her that was her choice. I was never rude and there was no overcharge of $100.00. The only charge was the new rental amount.
It is obvious that Ms. [redacted] has embellished her claim and added many false details to make her case. I am very willing to reimburse her for the $50.00 that she is requesting. Not because she doesn't owe it, but because she is now out of our facility and that is well worth the money.

Response:
I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I am glad they have shown their true colors here in that
response. I want people to have warning of
the kind of people they are doing business with. I have uploaded the following evidence that
they are not being truthful.
1. 1. The
email I sent to the office manager when the over payment occurred.
2. 2. The
invoice I received from them for the month of June showing $45 per unit due.
3. 3. The
email that the office manager sent me when she posted the credit of $50 to my
card.
4. 4. The
receipt of the credit that was attached to the email.
5. 5. The
10 days notice that also states the rent is $45 per unit with no rate increase
mentioned.
I was charged by the owner again the day after the office
manger gave the credit. She of course
did not send a receipt or email of that and I will not post my bank statement
publicly. The office manager did call me
the morning the owner returned from vacation to tell me that the owner was
charging me again at which time she asked if I wanted to speak to the
owner. I did. She was rude and asked if I would have my
stuff out by the end of the day. I told
her no I had paid for June and I would remove my stuff by the end of the
month. I cleaned both units out and let
them know I had left them empty and clean.
As for the credit I sent all this to the bank and they have returned my
money so she really has no choice at this point as far as the credit goes.

Response:
I have attached documentation from the [redacted] account. I have verified that I was incorrect in stating that there was never a refund of $50.00 made on this account. My office assistant did give this refund without my knowledge. She has provided the attached statement.
The other attachments include documentation showing ledger notes and receipts and then the certified mail enclosure and postal receipt sent 4/23/14. The certified mail enclosures were a Notice of Default showing the [redacted]s as past due from November 2013 to April 2014 and also the rental rate increase letter. We did not enforce this increase until June as seen in the payment from Ms. [redacted].

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this response is satisfactory to me. I did not receive the rent increase notices they have attached but have received the credit from my bank and will consider this complaint resolved.
