Date: 11/09/2016Subject: Complaint # [redacted]Dear Ms. [redacted],We have received the complaint from Mr. [redacted] and have the following for your consideration:· We apologize for the delay in responding, but we had difficultly identifying the vehicle mentioned in this complaint. Mr. [redacted]...

is the complainant mentioned in the correspondence, however our records show the vehicle was owned (during the oil consumption repair) by [redacted]· Ms. [redacted] brought her vehicle in for possible abnormal oil consumption on 12/31/2015 with 62,087 miles on the odometer. Upon inspection of her concern, we researched and found a Technical Service Bulletin, which identified a repair for her oil consumption issue.· The repair process was to refill her oil levels and monitor the exact oil usage. If the usage was deemed as out of specifications, then Audi would pay for the cost of dissembling her engine and replacing the engine rings.· Ms. [redacted] brought the vehicle back on 3/10/2016 to recheck oil levels and on 4/25/2016 at 63,562 miles on the odometer, we replaced the rings inside the engine to make the necessary repairs to fix the oil consumption issue- She was also provided with an Audi loaner free of charge during this process.· As a measure of maintenance and precaution, and since the engine is already mostly disassembled, we always give the customer the "option" of replacing the timing chain and tensioner at this time. Most customers like this option as there is minimal labor cost (three hours total) and can extend the life of the motor by early replacement of this difficult and expensive to replace wear item. Ms. [redacted] chose not to replace the timing chain and tensioner. We reassembled her vehicle and assume the repairs have been satisfactory, as she has not returned or notified us since the repair.If Mr. [redacted] or Ms. [redacted] would like to contact us, we would gladly evaluate her vehicle at no charge if her vehicle is no longer drivable and provide a loaner free of charge during this evaluation. If the vehicleneeds to be towed, we will assist with her tow expense depending on where the vehicle is currently located.We apologize if her car is now un-drivable and she is dissatisfied. However we don't know if any of our work performed is related to her current concern. If they so choose we will assist In helping them find options to get her vehicle operational once again.Please contact me directly to make the necessary arrangements.Sincerely,[redacted]
