I have a Technics Linear Tracking Turntable that is years old The plastic tab in the lid that operates the whole thing brokeNaturally, no new part exists I have scoured Las Vegas to find a repair shop that will even talk to me, let alone have me bring it in to themMany of the shops I contacted were not even familiar with linear tracking turntablesOthers recommended I buy a digital turntable I actually have one; however, the difference in sound quality is like night and day with my linear tracking turntable winning hands downI took it to *** @ Audio Xpert He told me that is would be at least weeks until he could look at it As I couldn't use it, I didn't have a problem with him keeping it Two days shy of four weeks, *** contacted me He just didn't see a way to repair it He looked into getting parts, epoxy, etcwith no luck I arranged to pick up the turntable, and or course, it was at no charge Fifteen or twenty minutes later, *** calls me back He was still thinking about my turntable It is so refreshing to meet someone that thinks outside the box He asked me if I was set on having the broken switch be the place where the turntable operates I personally don't care how the turntable turns on He suggested overriding that switch and operating it with the START/STOP switches on the front of the turntable Not only did he perform the bypass, he also overhauled the motor, lubricated the thing and re-calibrated the speed When all was said and done, my bill was $below the original estimate I wish you could hear my stereo I have a new turntable This place rocks! Thank you, *** You can waste your time trying some other place for your stereo needs, but this is the place you should end up visiting A total breath of fresh air in this smoke-filled gambling town
