Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2014/05/07) */ I'd like to add to [redacted] statement [redacted] came in with a usb/bluetooth adapter for his BMWAfter giving him a quote for the installation, I offered an alternative solution to what he wanted which is to have a USB/ Bluetooth connection in his car in the form of a new car stereoI offer this to all my BMW customers with great resultsI didn't object to installing his equipment and I offer what I believe to be a better option [redacted] took a moment to think about it and commented that a new stereo would be around the same price as his usb/bluetooth adapter after installation, he decided on the new stereo route As I was showing him how to operate the stereo I told him that it slipped my mind about the steering wheel control in his BMW and he said it wasn't a big deal to him and if he really wanted it he can get that part installed at a later time He did return the following day saying the his clock is not working and that the Kenwood stereo doesn't sound like his BMW stereo and he was unhappy about not having steering wheel controlsI wasn't given the chance to make adjustments on the Kenwood stereo to tailor the sound to his liking.I didn't know that the clock on his dashboard is controlled by his original stereoHe just wanted to return the parts and have his aftermarket parts installedHe also said he is ordering the satellite radio attachment for the adapter and want it installed the same timeThe parts were coming in on Tuesday or Wednesday and we talked on the phone and set an appointment for Thursday Thursday- [redacted] came in for his appointment and I explained to him that I can take back the equipment that he bought from me but labor is not refundableThe installation was done properly The cost for installing his USB/Bluetooth adapter and satellite radio is a little higher than the refund but I said I'll install it for the refunded price I'm sorry that he feel that he should get the labor refunded as well and I would agree with him if my installation was performed wrong but the stereo works and the bluetooth works also In closing, I don't believe that we owe [redacted] the $labor we charged because we didn't refuse to install his parts and forced him to go with my stereoWe laid out his options and he chose the new stereo routeThe installation was completed correctly and there stereo had no defectsHe didn't give us a chance to adjust the stereo sound for him and decided to return the entire purchase after what seems to be buyers' remorse Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2014/05/09) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I do not accept this response because the information provided by [redacted] on May 7, contains more statements: 1) If [redacted] indeed offers his 'alternative solution' to all his BMW customers with great results why didn't he know that the clock on the dashboard of the BMW is controlled by the original stereo 2) And, yes after hearing ***'s scheming spiel about the quality of the unit he sold in his store, I decided to trust him to deliver what he advertised"He told me" it was a better buy than the MediaBridge product that I wanted installed, he said partly because add-on/aftermarket products tend to cause problems with other parts of a car system such as a BMW automobile, and that his option would provide me better quality features for around the same price, 3) It was not until after the stereo was installed in my car that I was told it disabled my steering wheel controlsIf [redacted] offers this to all his BMW customers why would a major inconvenience like this slip his mind, especially since the part that rectifies this problem costs 56% more that the cost of the stereo unit itself! If not ommitted, this information would falsify the like-equal value of his 'alternative solution' 4) I never told [redacted] that I wanted to "return the parts" and have my "aftermarket parts" installed, I told him that the alternative solution (scam) that he had provided was not working as he had advertised and had actually disabled features of my automobileI told him thathat I wanted what I had asked for the day before 5) [redacted] never told me that the cost for installing the MediaBridge product I had was a little higher than the refund but that he would install it for the refunded price I spent most of the evening after [redacted] installed his Kenwood system in my car modifying the available adjustments to achieve a better quality soundThe factory installed sub-woofer in my automobile was completely disabled when he installed the Kenwood system, and none of the possible adjustments could rectify the intermittent static and disconnect of the bluetooth mechanismI have experience with sound equipment as I am a mobile disc jockey as well as an Information Technology consultantThere are no configuration adjustments that can make a defective sound system provide premium quality sound as he advertisedDefective is defective I discovered a reputable company, Precision Auto Stereo, XXXXX [redacted] Hayward, CA XXXXX precisionautostereo.com, which installed my MediaBridge system I continue to request a full refund of the labor charges as I would like to resolve this problem before needing to proceed to small claims court Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 9, 2014/05/20) */ I can see that there was a clear miscommunicationI do not wish to continually to drag this on I will agree to refund [redacted] $on the condition that he will delete the Yelp review he left online Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (2000, 11, 2014/05/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I recently looked to get my Dartmouth home roof done. He provided me with a quote, and did an excellent job and I would rate it 9/10. I got an ivoice after. He was very kind and respectful and got tge job done.
