Review: Augusta Roof Brite LLC replaced shingles on the roof of our house in Nov. 2015. There is nails coming up out of the shingles, the shingles are not laying down, the ridge vent has been installed wrong and the shingles are hanging over to far, they are almost in the gutter on the front of the house . [redacted] came out in Dec. 2015 took pictures , said the shingles needed to be replaced. They came out replaced a very small section of shingles and never addressed any other issues. I have emailed Mr. [redacted] at Augusta Roof Brite and called him on the phone many times , he came out to look at the roof again on July 15, 2016 and wanted to use chalk to hold the nails down. We told him there was more issues than just the nails. He said the shingles were not laying down because the felt was defective and the underlayment needed to be replaced. I told Mr. [redacted] his roofer replaced one board and never mentioned any thing about any defects in material. He said he would have his insurance guy call us. We have not received any calls and Mr. [redacted] will not respond.Desired Settlement: Refund we paid him and the cost of materials.

RE: Complaint #[redacted] To Whom It May Concern, In October of 2015, I contracted with [redacted] to install new shingles on his roof ([redacted]., [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] purchased all the supplies for this job which included three tab GAF shingles. I subcontracted out to another vendor to do the work. This vendor had previously installed shingles on numerous other jobs with great success with no complaints. I was out of town at the time and when I returned, Mr. [redacted] called and informed me that he was not pleased with the job.. That week, I took some of that the job looked bad. That week, I took some of my guys and did some repairs. Some nails were nailed below the nail line in some spots and the lines for the 3 tab shingles were out of line in some places. I purchased additional shingles and made repairs. Mr. [redacted] inspected the roof and said it looked fine. In July of 2016, I received and e-mail from Mr. [redacted] stating that there were nail pops on the shingles and that the vendor had left a long overhang at the guttering. I responded by going out to the [redacted]s to see exactly what the situation was, however, when I got there I was met by a very hostile Mrs. [redacted] and did not want me to do anything to the roof. While I was there, I did observe nail pops. This roof has 3 tab shingles installed over 1/2 inch plywood. The vendor had to cut out a piece of bad underlayment and told Mr. [redacted] that the plywood was very thin and brittle and should be replaced. Mr. [redacted] responded by telling the vendor to install the shingles because the plywood had been good for years. The cheap shingles along with the thin and brittle plywood has not held the nails in place allowing the plywood to spit the nails up and lift the shingles. I also informed Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] that I would contact my insurance company which I did and am waiting for them to contact the [redacted]s in reference to the work. I have also contacted several other roofing companies and they confirmed the nail pops occur on lots roofing jobs and it is due to the and they confirm that the nail pops occur on lots of jobs and it is due to the underlayment and not the roofer. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to call me. Sincerely, [redacted] Augusta Roof Brite P.S. I was contacted by the insurance agent on 8/1/2016 and also sent an e-mail to Mr. [redacted]I believe that this was an underlayment problem and not a nailing. When we did the repairs, the nails seemed to be installed correctly.
