I'll admit I don't "scrap" cars very often. My impression from the estimator was the vehicle would be sold for scrap metal. I was not aware that scrapping a car was a term used by salvage yards to indicate the car would have salable parts removed and resold. My impression was the scrap metal price for a car does not take into account any valuable components still on the car. I sold my car to Aumiller's on 9/or 9/of 2017. Please express my apologies for lodging this complaint to Aumiller's. I stand educated on the term of "scrapping" a car

October 21, 2017Dear *** ***,Aumilier's Auto Parts, Incappreciates the opportunity to respond to complaint ID number ***.The complainant outlines two concernsFirst, that Aumilier's did not pay enough for their vehiclePlease see the attached *** Blue Book {*BB) report generated using
the vehicle identification number for the specific vehicle in questionAccording to *BB, this vehicle held a value of $-$In this case, the vehicle wouid not run and showed significant wear on the body panelsNevertheless, Aumilier's generously paid the complainant $100; an amount clearly in line with figures provided by nationally accepted *BB valuesAlso, important to note is that the complainant accepted the $100, and did not report a complaint to the Revdex.com until months after the transaction.Second, Aumilier's stands accused of lying regarding the disposition of the vehicleAutomotive recyclers purchase end of life vehiclesThese vehicles go through a dismantling process similar to an automotive assembly line in reverseUsable parts are removed, inspected, tested, inventoried, and stored for resaleDamaged parts are recycled for the metal/material value, or are sold to parts remanufacturersThe term for this process is "scrapping".There are many costs affiliated with scrapping end of life vehiclesExamples of the expenses Aumilier's incurs include employee wages, titling fees, reporting fees, hauling, insurance, and utilitiesWe pay for special equipment to recover gasoline and motor oilWe pay to have antifreeze and tires removed from our propertyYes, we do sell parts from scrapped vehicles to cover these costsNever did we indicate to this complainant that we would not sell parts from this scrapped car.Aumilier's Auto Parts, Incis a third-generation, family owned and operated automotive recyclerWe are proud to be an environmentally responsible recycler known for our work ethic, integrity, and commitment to our customers and our communityWe are saddened that the complainant was not 100% satisfiedWe will use this information to better educate our customers, and work to insure this type of misunderstanding does not happen again in the future.Sincerely,Karl A***, SrPresident
