Gave insurance quote of 951 for year.Told them I had quote from progressive insurance for 1023 for year. After 1st bill I got adjusted premium 1786Gave a bad quote to beat price of competition and secure my business. Then when next bill was due asking for a additional 346 down payment and extremely inflated (almost double) monthly premium. Also sent cancellation notice saying insurance will be canceled in 30 days if I don't make the additional down payment.Desired SettlementI want a refund of down payment for using bate and switch practices. So I can go to progressive insurance company that provided original quote. This is a commercial vehicle/commercial insurance policy. These premiums AND quotes are more fluid than a personal vehicle. And as the word is defined... a QUOTE is a QUOTE.... we quote using the correct carrier rates... and we stand by the quote given to [redacted]... another fact he fails to mention is WHAT COVERAGES did he ACTUALLY purchase.... in order to actually evaluate his complaint properly we would NEED to see a copy of his so-called Progressive quote or ACTUAL issued policy. Also as of TODAY... if he did in fact change over to Progressive... we have NOT recieved any formal notice from Progressive... so technically he is still insured with Commerce the policy we wrote for him... finally as far as his "request" for return of down payment... THAT will NOT happen since he in fact has an active issued policy which the vehicle is insured by EVEN today
