Shortly after moving into a major fixer-upper home I had surgery on my hand and took in a helperI was obtaining bids from various contractors This gal insisted I meet with MrSweeten, a general contractor and long time family friend My first impression was he was feeble and had a very annoying assistantThough knowledgeable, he had no crew and this project was beyond his capabilitiesI also needed help fencing my pasture for my horses and had difficulty finding a laborerMrSweeten's assistant said he would do itHe never showed but MrSweeten did I needed a post set for the gate He insisted on wrapping the bottom with a roll of duct tape and securing the post in place with rocks and not the concrete I bought for the task After hours he finished and said he gets $50/hr This was only a $12-15/hrjob I gave him $because he was exhausted and I assumed he was getting much work Later I looked at the post The duck tape was torn and though it was plumb he didn't bother to square it up with the other post Furthermore, after attaching the fencing, the post was not secure enough to put any tension on the strand This man will never work for me again I'm thankful he didn't do any work on my home

Though knowledgeable, he had no crew and this project was beyond his capabilities. I also needed help fencing my pasture for my horses and had difficulty finding a laborer.
