Austin Auto Credit Reviews (%countItem)

I purchased a car from here and it had severe mechanical issues and had to bring the car back several times to be repaired. The car broke down on me while driving it 3 separate times, and had to reset the car to get it to run every time. Finally got the bank involved and Austin Century agreed to take it to the manufacture and have it checked out. (Transmission was slipping really badly) They had the car for almost a week before they took the car to the manufacture, then after being at the manufacture for a week I get a phone call from the banker and he tells me there is nothing wrong with the transmission. I ask for the contact info to the service adviser that told him this information. While speaking to the adviser he informed me that they did not find any issues with the car after scanning it and driving it. I explained to him what I was experiencing with it and asked him if Transmission Stop Slip where put in the car would it cause it to act normal for a short period of time. The service adviser said that is a good possibility. I told him I would call him back. I called the banker back and told him that I wanted the transmission flushed and re-diagnosed. The banker said he would call Austin Century with my request. He calls me back and says they refuse to let the manufacture do what I request, which tells me they are hiding something. I asked the banker and we can undo the sale and I get my down payment back and he says yes. I spoke with the salesman from Austin Century and told him I want my down payment returned in cash because I paid it in cash. They refused, I said okay send me a picture of the check before I return the loaner. (The loaner was a major piece of junk as well) I get said picture and take the loaner to Austin Century and receive check for my down payment reimbursement. I take the check to the bank within 10 minutes and the bank says there is a stop payment on the check. they stole $1,500.00 from me. Now I'm stuck without a car and no money to try to buy one somewhere else.

Mr. is NOT a consumer of Austin Century Auto.

Customer Response • Feb 04, 2020

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: I did conduct business with this Company and they tried to hide to major mechanical issues with the vehicle they sold me. They also kept my down payment when I made them take the vehicle back.

I have an open investigation going on through the Office of Consumer Credit Commission with this Company.

Regards

Mr. Purchased a vehicle from us and called about some issues on the car, we addressed the issues and he was done. Few days later he complained again about the transmission, we looked at the vehicle and could not find any problems, I send the vehicle to Dodge dealer at my expense, The dealer said nothing is wrong with the car. He requested transmission flush, and dealer said it does not need a flush, but he insisted top do the job at my expense and I refused. The vehicle was return due to NON PAYMENT. We requested the loaner to be returned and he said he would only return if he gets a check for full refund of down payment. The only reason I wrote the check was because he was holding the loaner as HOSTAGE and refused to return the vehicle. I had no choice but to write the check to collect the loaner.car. He Kept the loaner car passed the agreement time., We have a liability and had to get the loaner back. WE ONLY wrote the check under DURESS to Collect the loaner. OTHERWISE I WOULD NOT WRITE THE CHECKHe drove the vehicle he purchased and put 12000 miles on it and almost 3000 miles on the loaner. Should he had an accident or any other infractions while driving the loaner , then we are responsible for it since his loaner agreement was over and he refused to bring the car back. His personal insurance which would cover the loaner was also cancelled, so he was driving the loaner WITHOUT INSURANCE Each time we contact him he had a different request and we tried very hard to work with him, but he was unreasonable and was not accepting the Dodge dealer service SUGGESTIONS and had his own special requests , although the dealer said it does not need this service.ALL dealers in state of TEXAS sell the cars AS IS WITHOUT WARRANTY from the dealer. I'm not aware of any state laws that will permit the customer to drive the car 2 months after purchase, drive it for 12000 miles or more and return it for full refund. THE CAR IS SOLD AS IS we work with our customers and try to keep everyone happy, but when a customer is unreasonable and will not accept the DODGE dealer service or anyone else, then we can not help him.Should you request any documents, we're happy to provide it. He also complained with OCCC and him claim was denied.
