to the tour the complainant called Austin Detours each day and suggested they were unsure whether or not they wished to participate in the tour. On each call Austin Detours explained that the complainant was free to cancel and receive a full refund at any time up until the 24 hour cancellation window become effective. Austin Detours explained to the complainant that this cancellation policy is necessary to minimize late cancellations that ultimately increase Austin Detours' costs and push up customer prices. Two minutes prior to tour departure, Austin Detours took a call from a lady, requesting a refund. In the background Austin Detours overhead a male state "Just tell them you are sick or something". Austin Detours has screenshot evidence to substantiate the time of this call. Given the circumstances, and the fact that Austin Detours made the complainant aware of its cancellation policy on each of the three days prior to the tour, Austin Detours believes it is inappropriate to offer a refund. Since starting business in 2014 Austin Detours has rarely needed to enforce its cancellation policy but believes it acted reasonably in doing so on this occasion. A fair cancellation policy helps keep prices down and enables more customers to enjoy our tours and our wonderful city.
