Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 7, 2016/06/26) */ Unfortunately, in this particular situation the estimate was given to the wrong houseThe [redacted] quote for seal coating was placed on the wrong mailbox resulting in the misunderstanding with the customer***,the owner, realized as soon as arriving to the job that a mistake had been made on our partWe tried to be apologetic to the customer and explain that a job of that size could not be done for [redacted] and the quote of [redacted] should have been placed with the drivewayWe did not proceed to start the job and [redacted] the owner continued to explain what had gone wrong and apologize for the inconvenience, however the customer would not listen to one word and instead continued to to react very stronglyThe customer would not even come to the house door to talk to [redacted] and instead sent her son, which solved nothingShe then proceeded to call the officeThe lady working that day also did her best to explain to the customer the mistake that was made and apologize however once again the customer would not listen and not allow the secretary to finish a complete sentenceWe completely understand this event could have been avoided and we do want everyone involved here to realize it was a honest mistakeWe're not running a fly by night business [redacted] has been in the area for over years and we have many many satisfied customers.We have never gave a quote and then changed it come time to do the job, that's ridiculousIf our business was ran like that we would not have made it past a six month mark, let alone plus yearsIn the future, I would advise this customer to communicate better and not just assume something is accurate because it is written down on a piece of paperHuman error does existThis was an honest mistakeThe quote was on a flyer not written down on one of our contracts which are one hundred percent accurateOnce again I do apologize for the time taken out of the customers day and the misunderstandingWe will be more attentive next time to where we are placing our flyersIn addition, I would like to mention a note given to us by one of our customers just todayThey were very pleased and even said "I wish I was able to have cleaned it off more for you"They wanted to help us! and were very happyI tried to attach an image however my computer will not let me Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 10, 2016/06/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) arriving to the job that a mistake had been made on our part. We tried to be apologetic to the customer and explain that a job of that size could not be done for [redacted] and the quote of [redacted] should have been placed with the driveway. We did not proceed to start the job and [redacted] the owner continued to explain what had gone wrong and apologize for the inconvenience, however the customer would not listen to one word and instead continued to to react very strongly. In the future, I would advise this customer to communicate better and not just assume something is accurate because it is written down on a piece of paper. Human error does exist. This was an honest mistake. The quote was on a flyer not written down on one of our contracts which are one hundred percent accurate. Once again I do apologize for the time taken out of the customers day and the misunderstanding. We will be more attentive next time to where we are placing our flyers. The owners response is full of inaccuracies. I am not going to argue with this poor business practice of giving a quote and not standing behind it. No other homes are near ours. This was a business error and the owner is not standing behind his quote.
