Authentic Bartending School Of Maryland

Review: I registered for a 1 week bartending course on with this school on June 23, 2014. At the time of the registration, which was also the 1st day of class, I paid a deposit of $200. After, attending class for 1 day, which was about 3 hours, I opted not to return and requested a refund. My request for a refund was forwarded by the receptionist (a young man) to the owner Minyanna F[redacted]. Ms. F[redacted] called me the next day ti inquire about my request for a refund. I explained to her that her establishment was not "what I expected." I gave her my specific concerns about the place "looking worn out, dimly lit, worn out bar & stools, roaches on the premise and not being as tidy as I would have preferred. Ms. F[redacted] became irate with me. I simply shared with her that as a small business owner myself, I expect better from a business that I am paying to patronize. Ms. F[redacted] stated that according to her company's policy, I would not receive a refund for 60 days. I expressed my disappointed and stated that "I was just there on yesterday and paid my deposit in cash, so why that just be returned back to me?" Again, she replied that I would receive a refund after 60 days. My 60 day waiting period ended on August 23, 2014. I have called & emailed this business several times with no response. The same male receptionist is still there, he kindly takes my name & number and then nothing else happens. I am simply trying to obtain a refund from this business. Based on the registration contract that I signed on 06/23/2014, I am entitled to recover $81 of my $200 deposit.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive the $81 refund that I am entitled to according to the contract that I signed.

During that initial conversation [redacted] was extremely rude and judgmental. Due to [redacted]'s disposition it is not recommended that she works in the hospitality industry. We don't want to spend any further time responding to [redacted]'s erroneous comments; we just want to close this issue. We apologize, for the delay in processing her refund; our bookkeeper did not process it in time because of a miscommunication. Based on the fact that [redacted] attended class (which was certainly more than 3 hours) and only paid $80.50 towards tuition she is not due a refund because she started class with less than the required $200.00 tuition payment ($320 total including registration and book fees). However, due to her service breakdown claim we will immediately issue her the partial refund of $81.00.Ultimately, we wish [redacted] the best the in her future endeavors. [redacted]'s $81 refund will be mailed tomorrow or if she is in need of the funds immediately we can send it via [redacted] if [redacted] has a [redacted] account (we would just need the email address associated with her [redacted] account). Please advise.

I am rejecting this response because: the owner is lying. Her establishment is worn down, dirty & roach infested. She couldn't accept the truth from someone else who does have a successful business. I completed bartending school at another local facility and have done extremely well thus far in the hospitality industry. The owner of the bartending school ignored my request for a refund until I submitted my complaint to the Revdex.com. Shortly, there after, she suddenly responded to my many phone calls & emails, and promptly issued me a refund. Yes, please forward my response to her and consider this matter as closed.
