Review: I brought my car in for servicing back in April, because the car was hesitating at stop signs and stop lights. Once the car was checked by the mechanic, he determined a part needed to be replaced. While under the hood doing the job, they also suggested I change out a gasket as well. It was an extra couple hundred dollars, but they assured me it would save me money in the long run, so I did. I had a good relationship with this shop for a couple of years and trusted their opinions.
When I received the car back, it was now leaking oil real bad, to a point where the oil was completely depleted in less than a week. I brought the car back and they determined it was leaking from the gasket. It was adjusted and they told me it would be fine. A week later, the car was out of oil again. I brought the car back a third time and they adjusted once again.
When the issue occurred again a week later, I added oil myself and saw the oil leaking out directly from the gasket they had replaced (I have video of this if necessary). At this point I contacted the company again and they refused to do any further work on my car. I was told "take my car somewhere else to have them fix it". At this point I did just that. I had to deal with another mechanic on multiple occasions to resolve the issues they created in replacing the gasket improperly. This cost me almost the full $800 cost I paid Auto Accents in the first place.
Therefore I ended up spending double the money because they botched the job the first time and did not want to take the time to fix the issue. The $800 I paid them in the first place was virtually wasted, as I had to spend almost that much on the back end to resolve all the issues they caused.Desired Settlement: I have a family, all bills associated with having a family, car payments, a mortgage, etc. $800 is not pocket change. They botched a job on me that I trusted them to do. They then refused to fix it and advised I take it to another business and pay them, which I had no choice but to do so. I feel as if they should refund me my money for leaving my car in worse shape than it was when I brought it in, in the first place. It was reliably running when I brought it to them, it was simply hesitating, which was an annoyance that I wanted to fix before it got worse. When I received the car back, it was smoking and leaking oil so bad that it was barely usable until I finally got it resolved.
I would like my $800 refunded due to the fact that they did not fix my car, but made it worse.
