Auto Advantage Reviews (1)

Review: I purchased a 2001 Ford Focus from Auto Advantage in August 2013. I had the car for two days and had to put approximately $200.00 in it. Two months later, I had to have several issues repaired and that bill was approximately $780. Now, in April I took my vehicle to be inspected and it would not pass inspection due to a bad tie rod end, which is normal wear and tear I guess, but both rear wheel springs are going bad and the entire rear suspension assembly is rusting through. They said that essentially the entire frame of the car is falling apart due to rust issues. Someone had previously welded a piece over part of the bar to cover something. There were several other parts on the car that had been "rigged" to get by which were part of the issues that were repaired on month two. The car only had 50k miles on it when I purchased it was my reason for buying it. I was told that the car had belonged to an older gentleman that had gotten sick and wasn't able to drive the car for awhile now and the family decided to sell it. They said that there were no issues with the car. I did test drive it and it ran fine. In addition to the above mentioned repairs I bought four new tires for the car the day I purchased it. The current repair issues have been estimated at $3000 to fix and that's without running into any trouble such as not being able to get the bolts out due to rust or the fact that I was told that any use of an air gun or such to remove parts to replace them could loosen more rust and rusted parts and cause more damage. I contacted the dealer and asked him to take the car back and explained all of the repairs I have had to make and still have to make and the fact that the car is unsafe and I still owe a substantial amount on the loan because I have only paid on it for six months. The fact that the rust is so substantial, I was told that the issue had to be known when it was sold to me if the car was looked over at all by the dealer. The dealer said that he was not willing to do anything.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back for the car so that I can pay back the loan that I got to purchase the vehicle. I can not purchase another vehicle with a current loan for this vehicle and I just want to be rid of this nightmare and purchase a safe and reliable used car elsewhere.
